sleep deprived. She sure is vocal when she's miserable. If she's not better by tomorrow we go to the vet.

Good morning Susan's.

I think I was accidentally offensive and didn't mean to be. This guy came to our door (randomly, i may add) saying he wanted to buy a phone that we were selling. So I was like "sure let me get my brother for you, he does the selling" and closed the door on him. :| I wasn't thinking. I guess my brother did the same when he came up and then went downstairs to find the phone. I realized that a) no matter who he was I should have invited him inside and b) he happened to be black, and I was hoping that it didn't seem like "oh yes we're not going to let the black man in our house." I just remember how it feels when people acted weird and/or uncomfortable around me because I looked different (i.e., lesbian and/or gender non-conforming = pervert), and I wouldn't want to make anyone else feel that way. Hopefully he didn't think we were thinking along those lines. I wasn't uncomfortable because he was black, I just have no manners.

Unless he's actually someone your brother knows, you did right by not letting him in. Whether he was black, white, rainbow. You can never be too careful.

So true, I'd say amen to that!

More than a few have been murdered advertising valuables on Craigslist and letting strangers come to their homes, not a good plan!

So true, Shan!  I've heard too many horror stories like this.  The other thing that happens is that someone offers a very expensive item for a price that is too good to be true, you go somewhere with a fat wad of cash and you get beaten or killed for it.

I stopped dealing with Craigslist over valuables because of stuff like this.  Also I have a lot of nice stuff at my house and I don't want some sketchy random stranger person inventorying it.  Sometimes I'll offer something for free and just leave it outside for them to take.

One time I told someone to meet me at a very public place to buy a guitar from me, and he refused saying, "It's not like this is a drug deal or something, why not just do it at your place?"  Umm, hell no!  This is why I prefer eBay.

What I was thinking is that when people feel threatened by someone else's sexuality, they actually feel threatened by their own.

i am feeling very close to a major mental breakdown. i am constantly  feeling threatened and anxious. I am forgetting things all over the place. I shout at people for no real reason.I am constantly switching between feeling just okay and extremely depressed and angry at two people who screwed up my life earlier this year. My mind feels so crowded right now and i am afraid of everything.

Nope not at all.  In all my years of selling on Craigslist, only one person has been to my house, and even then, they stayed in the car.

Well the creepy part was that my brother never gave him our address. We're pretty sure we know how he found us, lol, but it was kind of rattling.

In any case, glad to know others didn't think what I did was weird/rude because it definitely wasn't my intention.

Did some major reorganizing in my room...like beyond my usual "clean" because cleaning never seems to last long. I'm going through all my old papers and doing a ton of shredding atm, it is supremely satisfying.

I'm thinking next I need to get rid of clothes I never wear and stop convincing myself that one day I'll magically like them again.

After that, probably some video game purging since I have a ton of old PS games I haven't played.

I sense major cash-making in the process.   ;D

Just a couple of years ago a man just north of me posted a man's diamond ring for sale on Craigslist, two men and a woman showed up and shot him in the face killing him and beat his spouse severely.

OK, aaand I'm off Craigslist forever now, even for freebies.  I also learned the hard way that it's not the place to look for band members either.  You always seem to find the major freaks that way.  Trust me, if I think you're a freak, it speaks volumes about you.

Some jerkface is driving up and down my street in a very loud dually truck with monster wheels that has been jacked up to the stratosphere.  I'm guessing he might be overcompensating for something.
