If your maab name is Gabriel then Gabriella would certainly make it easier on friends and family, though I personally didn't like the idea of feminizing my male name. I imagined people saying it, and I think it'd remind me too much of my male name/identity. That being said, I think that it depends on the person.

I think both are beautiful names, by the way. :)

Honestlyy, I am still wondering which name I like the most... "Gabriella" or "Amanda" ... Gabriella would be the feminization of my boy name, HOWEVERR, I find the name "Amanda" SO pretty, both have nice meanings and stuff, this is my biggest struggle with transitioning really :[ .
I would like you peeps to give opinions :3.
Amanda Rodrigues, sound better than Gabriella Rodrigues? My middle name is Rodrigues...
I am afraid if I change my name to "Amanda" my personality may go with it, but Gabriella may be a little giveaway, or maybe not? help meh
Personally I like Amanda, while both are both are beautiful names me. To me Amanda seems to flow better with Rodrigues as your middle name, but it is YOUR name and you have to feel comfortable with it. If you are worried about your personality disappearing with the change of name, ask yourself
"What's in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet"

I toyed with changing my name on numerous occasions but mine is used as a boys and girls nickname and everyone automaticly would extend my name to one of the female variations since my teens. (maybe they knew something that I wasn't ready to admit yet)

P.S Congratulations on choosing your name Kara Jayde

I've always liked the name Alex and Hunter is inspired by mom's maiden name.

As I move towards better integration of my two selves, my wife suggests a rechristening. My middle name would serve as a two-way name, so I might start going by that no matter how I am presenting. Still not sure, though.

I asked my mother what she would have called me had I been born a girl, she said Susan after my father's mother who died the year before I was born. That just didn't seem to fit.
My brothers have always called me Michelle so at first I went with that.
When I came out with my aunt, she said... well she said a lot. First was that it explained some things. I had forgotten that I had kept my fingernails long my whole junior year. I went as Dorothy on Halloween when I was five and wanted to go as Wonder Woman the next year. That I cried for a week after she made me take off her cheerleading outfit on my eighth birthday. Apparently it's my birthday and I should be able to wear what I want is not a valid argument. Hard to believe how much I had forgotten.
Oops, got sidetracked.
She said I was only third generation American on one side of the family and second on the other, why go with the English version of my name at all. Mikaela is a family name, feels right and it makes me smile when I say it.

I searched a few baby name sites for native american names and gaelic names. The reason i chose to look at the Native American names is that they sometimes have deep meanings that are closely tied with nature and as I love nature and I am part Native American, I thought it was only appropriate to peruse around. I found a few names that resonated but didn't quite have the deep meaning that I was looking for. I then looked at gaelic names as my original name was gaelic. I couldn't really find anything there either. I then decided to look at Greek names as they often sound very sophisticated and are not used all that often. I chose the name Athena because it is very feminine sounding yet sophisticated and strong. The goddess that this name was taken after reminds me a lot of my own personality in some ways as I try to be as knowledgeable as I can about certain topics and value that knowledge highly. I then try to pass on that knowledge to others and attempt to invent new ways of doing something or creating something that would help benefit others. Find a name not for only how it sounds but how the definition of the name resonates with you.
