I just want to start with saying that I am sorry for attacking the moderators of this board.

I got frustrated with the rules because hormones and their dosages were a very worrisome topic to me in the past.  The reason for this was that I was taking hormones I bought off the internet, and not seeing an actual doctor.  I have since stopped taking the hormones and decided that I am going to do it the right way this time starting with returning to therapy.

This site is amazing for dealing with problems, and I am thankful for it being here.

Anywhoo...  back on topic.

I guess I could say I am practically pre-HRT.  Took Sprio and E for a month in February but now I am just taking Dutasteride for hair loss while I do the therapy and start hormones in the next few months.

So.... How do I look?  Be honest. I got some really tough skin.

(and I just like this picture because somehow I created cleavage lol)

Nice face and smile, good cheekbones, you need to work on those bushy eyebrows a bit but overall you're going to do great!

Btw - good apology and glad you're doing it the right way, I did it the wrong way once and got a huge clot (DVT) that could have killed me. We don't need to live dangerously, I was stupid only once and lived to tell about it.

Thanks!  You should have seen those eyebrows about 2 hours ago!  I didn't want to take too much off because when I wake up tomorrow it's back to "guy mode" for a bit.  Thinking I will go to a salon in a couple of weeks and have a professional shape them.

Good plan! At least you have eyebrows to work with, I got slighted with blonde sketchy brows.

Hi there,

I had an account with one or two posts previously, but it seems to be gone. Or I didn't remember the username properly. One of the two.

Either way, I'll introduce myself - I'm 28, I'm from Belfast in Northern Ireland,  and I'd like your opinions please!

Picture the second - age 28, after about 7.5 months of hormones:

Hey there, Belfast.

It looks like you're feminizing nicely. Something tells me you're nearly at a point at which the changes are going to go into overdrive. If you're not out yet, it might be time to start making plans. ;)

Cheers,
Teg

P.S. It might also be time to start shopping around for more feminine frames. :)

Thank you both for the advice! I should be starting hormones some time within the next few months. My therapist has said that she'll be happy to give an endocrinologist a letter of approval, so now I just need to find an endocrinologist who will accept me as a patient. I've considered the issue of weight gain induced by hormones. Normally I'm actually quite active, but due to my recent depression I haven't been as active as I usually am. Hopefully I can get back to my old ways after hormones have started.

With my nose, yea, it's something that I've been self conscious about for some time. Fortunately though, I think that's less of a masculine/feminine thing, and more of an attractiveness thing. I.e. I feel that it makes me less attractive, but I don't think it'll make me look less feminine. I'm optimistic that hormones will help it look better though :)

I don't intend to make a big deal about your nose honey, we all have features that are ethnically driven, some of mine are not very flattering. I just wanted to make the point that there are some great makeup tutorials as well as a lot of really helpful techs at makeup kiosks in the shopping malls that have some great tips on how to minimize on some things and maximize on our real assets, be sure and look into it. I sure as hell wouldn't want you to have a complex about anything I've said, just trying to be helpful and give positive input.

That sounds promising if a mix between exciting and slightly terrifying! I'm out to most of my friends and have been for about a year now, and they've all been wonderful and accepting, and for the most part very supportive. Not out to family or people in work though, and people in work have been highly transphobic whenever anything even vaguely related to trans issues comes up. Thankfully I'm leaving in a couple of months to go back to uni so if I can manage to hold off until then it should be okay!

You'll be just fine. A couple more months ought to be totally do-able.

Good luck.

Oh no, it's ok, I didn't take it that way. Your feedback was quite helpful, thank you :)

Sorry if I am a bit narcissistic and post here a lot asking for opinions...but I'm not yet full time and my appearance is bothering me a lot. I don't know if I can pass looking the way I am right now. Please, sincere opinions, as always...Can I pass or am I still too far from it?

Thank you and kisses for you all! =)

Truth? You look fine. You have come a really long way so absolute kudos.

Tips! I would ditch the liner on the lower lid completely. Just put a bit of mascara down there...light touch. Aldo, love the brown, fab for day time wear but you may consider a bit more mascara on the upper set and even falsies to really pop. I'd also easy does it on the heavy shadow..make sure you blend well!

Then the hair...I feel if you really need a wig you would do best to invest in a top of the line one. Hair plays such s role in how people look, real or fake. So that if you're going to be wearing it everyday you may consider spending 1k plus.

Other than that you're doing well, IMO. You look best when you smile htw!

You can pass, but I'd cool it with the makeup...it's a bit much and might draw attention to you. Personally it looks like the kind of makeup someone would wear if they're really not confident about passing, and that in itself would draw suspicion to the fact of them being trans. But I know you have that confidence in you so you don't need all that makeup! Be light, be realistic.

Speaking of realistic, I'd suggest not going full time until you find a highly realistic/real hair wig. There aren't a lot of non-event related reasons to wear a wig and that's gonna turn heads. People who are bald by age or by illness usually get high quality wigs for long-term use. They're realistic and people don't even notice that they're wigs. However, from the pictures, your wig is clearly noticeable as such. It could potentially instantly out you, unfortunately.

Indeed make up is not still quite my thing yet :p I am still learning to set it up, but you're right...perhaps something softer and lighter should help not drawing too much attention. Perhaps pnly eyeliner and no lipstick and eyeshadow should be fine.

About the hair =( Actually my previous wig was even worse...this one looks a lot like my natural hair...my naturai hair is now almost as long as the wig, but it is still too short on the front and can't give me a feminine appearance no matter what I do. I think that in a few months I might achieve a fuller hairline again...so I wouldn't like to invest a lot on a wig I would have to throw away...and, to worsen things, I am short on money right now :p I think I'll have to try going out with this one or my previous one...could I do something to improve this wig into a better appaearance? :p

Not necessarily. I would say it's more about choosing the right colors and places of application, as well as proper application and blending would do wonders for you..makeup just takes time to earn, you'll get there!

As for the wig, your best bet is probably to work with its natural parting if you don't feel you can upgrade. I don't really know tbh maybe another user who wears wigs regularly can help better, here.

Hmmm is this wig better? I had this wig for a long time, but I was unsecure about it...I don't know if I look weel as a blondie. I think it looks more natural...but at the same time the color bothers me :p I really don't know what to think about this one.

That's very kind of you to say, but I know I'm not. In any case, I have a quite prominent adam's apple (when I was younger a girl came up to me and told me that she liked it - presumably she thought this would be a compliment, but I didn't really take it that way...) that I am nowhere near being able to afford to do anything about.

Much more natural-looking.

BTW, in your earlier photos, you have great posture in the head and body shots.

The blond works for you. That's my two cents.

Nice smile, by the way.
