Much more natural-looking.

BTW, in your earlier photos, you have great posture in the head and body shots.

The blond works for you. That's my two cents.

Nice smile, by the way.

Cheers,

_______ and Teg,

Thank you for your kind words ^^

I think I'll stick with the blondie one then =) To tell the truth, I thought this one was the least natural-looking wig among my wigs...but I trust you people. I hope you are right ^^

About the hair =( Actually my previous wig was even worse...this one looks a lot like my natural hair...my naturai hair is now almost as long as the wig, but it is still too short on the front and can't give me a feminine appearance no matter what I do. I think that in a few months I might achieve a fuller hairline again...so I wouldn't like to invest a lot on a wig I would have to throw away...and, to worsen things, I am short on money right now :p I think I'll have to try going out with this one or my previous one...could I do something to improve this wig into a better appaearance? :p

Nat,
It might not be something you feel like doing, but why don't you let us see your natural hair if it's as long as you say?

By the way, I just had another look and while I still like the blond wig (you look great as a brunette, too. I especially like your avatar), it does need to be brushed out. You probably already knew that, though.

Cheers,
Teg

Teg,

My natural hair is getting longer. I don't have it cut since January 2013, so almost one year and a half running away from scissors ^^

But I had a receding hairline and, although it is slowly coming back since I started HRT, I still have almost no hair on the temples and that makes my hairline scream "male". It is quite long behind and, if it wasn't for the front, I am quite sure I could have it styled into a feminine haircut.

My grandmother keeps telling me that, right now, my hair is longer than the hair of many women out there.

It is quite curly, but I think that the weight of the hair should allow it to get a bit less curly as it grows...so, if longer and with no receding hairline, I think that my hair would resemble the one on the brunette wig.

But here it is (I was in boy mode here...boy clothes and no makeup :p):

Hair makes a huge difference on my case :p I just can't even resemble a woman with this hair =(

Sorry if I am a bit narcissistic and post here a lot asking for opinions...but I'm not yet full time and my appearance is bothering me a lot. I don't know if I can pass looking the way I am right now. Please, sincere opinions, as always...Can I pass or am I still too far from it?

Thank you and kisses for you all! =)
After all this talk of wigs and such, I have to say I think you'll have very little issue passing besides the wig/hair issue. The only thing I can see that's strictly masculine is the brow ridge. But in my opinion you're very pretty. If you just maintain that confidence that's visible in your pics then I think you'll do just fine :-)

Nat,

Okay, I totally see your point about the hair. The sides are grown in quite nicely, but the front needs more time. Especially having seen your natural hair, I'm going to change my vote to brunette. The blond looks nice, but I keep thinking that the way your hair looks in your avatar really suits your face.

And, no lie, Nat- outside of the hair situation, your boy mode is a total fail. ;)

Hugs,
Teg

Riversong,

Thank you ^^ I do have plans of having some FFS on the future, but I don't want to wait until there to start going out as myself...but going back to the wig subject :p my first brunette wig (the one on my avatar) left my brow too much exposed...so I decided to purchase a new one with more hair to cover it hoping to hide better my forehead and brow. I hope I can do fine ^^ on the few times I went out as myself, I was amazed about people telling me I am looking fine. Until now I have problems to believe in that :p

Teg,

Thank you too =) Your words gave me a boost of self-esteem. Since the beginning I was wishing to reach the male fail phase. Damn hair, if it wasn't for it I would already be there everyday ^^

Well...until my hair doesn't come back...and I think it will take at least 6 months or more until it gets back (I hope it keeps getting back), I'll stick with a wig...perhaps a hairstylist can help me making it look more realistic...perhaps a trim here and there...

Hmmm is this wig better? I had this wig for a long time, but I was unsecure about it...I don't know if I look weel as a blondie. I think it looks more natural...but at the same time the color bothers me :p I really don't know what to think about this one.

Yes. Pink lipstick is far better, and here most girls wear pink.

Hello
I am a new member to this website.
I have been very bad recently about what and who I am. I have been aware if my trans feelings since between ages 11 and 12, but I have only felt the need to act since age 18, July 2013.
I know that I am a freak, that I am wrong in the head.
I know that the kinder thing for me to do is try to forget all of this.
Anyway, I thought that I might feel better if I send this message.
I wish to know if I could we hope to pass as female, or would I be better off not trying.
I'll try to upload a picture or better reference.

For better reference, I am 5'9" tall and weight 135lbs. I wear small everything and have size 11 shoes. I have not had any hormones at all, I simply hope they can do something for me.
Thank you and please reply.
-Mortified_Penguin

Penguin, first off you are neither a freak nor wrong in the head.

Second, you are very young and have extremely transition-friendly features.

Size small everything, great hair, and 135 lbs? Yeah, you'll be fine. Don't worry too much about the feet; they're manageable.

Just don't beat yourself up, okay, P?

You're among friends here. Relax and try to make yourself at home. It's a walk, not a sprint, and if you have a destination in mind, then baby steps will get you there.

Chin up, girl. You'll pass if that is your ultimate goal. But don't race to get there; you have time to figure things out along the way.

Just stay positive, and do your best to be kind to yourself. Take care. Reach out if you need help, guidance, or feel alone.

Cheers,
Tegan

About my height and weight, same foot size. As you are now in your pics, ignoring what you are wearing, and your hair style, you got facial features that look to go either way. And that's good, very neutral. I'm sure hormones will do you nicely.

Hey, girls! Okay, so this is my first post but I admit I have been lurking for a while. So, I wanted to transition when I was a teenager but I let my folks kinda mess things up for me. They became really abusive, kicked me out and I just lost the confidence to do it. A few months ago though I read the "transitioning in your 30's" thread that Adabelle made and it made me feel like maybe it's not too late. I turn 30 in July but I'm starting HRT on Monday (26th of May). No matter how well I "pass" or not I'm still going to transition all the way. However I am kinda curious about how successful my transition will be. I'm not sure how much hormones can do at my age or how much FFS I'll "need" (if any)? So, I'm just wondering what you girls think? I'm 5'9", 150 lbs (but I'm losing weight fast), size 10 feet (women's), smallish hands and although I'm wearing a wig in my photos I have a full head of hair. So... what's the damage?

You are definitely not a freak. There's nothing wrong with being trans. I admit to being somewhat biased on this subject but I've come to realise that it doesn't really matter what other people think. You only have one life and one chance to live an authentic existence. Before I came out I thought that everyone would think that I was a freak but almost everyone has been really accepting and understanding. Sometimes people are just transphobic because they've never personally known a trans person but once someone they know and love comes out it realigns their perspective. As for the ones that don't accept you... well... F them! I put off transitioning for so long but now I look back and I roll my eyes at how I ever let their narrow-minded prejudices dictate who I was.

Oh, and by the way, you're beautiful and already look quite feminine.
