Marcel

I liked Marcel but my older brother's name is Marcelo.
Having a really similar name would be awkward.

I'm trying to come up with names (somewhat Spanish) but I could use some new suggestions.

So far, I'm thinking:

1. Daniel
2. Adrian
3. Emmanuel
4. Gabriel
5. Nicholas
6. Elias
7. Christian
8. Antonio
9. David
10. Marco

Hi again!

My thoughts:

1. Daniel- I like this one.  It's a classic.
2. Adrian- This name is unisex.  Might work against you?
3. Emmanuel- I had a roommate with that name.  I hated him with a passion.
4. Gabriel- Could be mistaken for Gabrielle with certain accents or pronunciations.
5. Nicholas- Another classic.
6. Elias- One of my favorite people is Elias Fernandes.  He makes some of the best wine in the world.
7. Christian- Never goes out of style
8. Antonio- I like this as well.  I sort of have the hots for Antonio Banderas.
9. David-  The name of my best friend and father-in-law. Another classic.
10. Marco- A bit close to Marcel/Marcelo.

I would go with whatever name lights up your brain when you hear it, that you enjoy being called and fits you like a glove.

I think Gabriel and Emmanuel are both beautiful names. The only reason I didn't consider either for myself is that they have heavy religious affiliations. Still good though.

Daniel is indeed classic. It's common enough that a lot of people might know somebody with that name, and might have preexisting good or bad feelings about it. I've known several people named Dan, and I liked them, so that name feels good to me. Obviously I'm not an indicator for how that name is perceived generally.

I have good feelings about David for the same reason. David was the name of two academics I looked up to when I was in college, one a linguist and one a neuroscientist.

Adrian is - to me - overly associated with sound bites from that one movie with that one muscley guy.

I think Nicholas is really nice. It would be up to you how to police whether people called you that or Nicky or Nick.

I like Elijah and Eli, but I don't have a strong opinion on Elias. I've never met anyone in person who had that name, but it is aesthetically pleasing.

I loved Newsies growing up, so all I can think of when I hear Christian is Christian Bale. That probably isn't the typical response you'd get, though.

Antonio is a pretty name, but if you are very white, it will raise eyebrows unless you live in Europe or Australia.

I have a hard time with Marco. I can't hear it without mentally saying polo.

Really, though, what you like is more important than what anyone else thinks. Only you get to own your name. It's good to factor in how people will treat you with whatever name you choose, but you can put up with more in the way of undesired reactions the more you like what you call yourself.

Having seen your pic, I think you look most like a Marco out of all of those names.

daniel is my name!! i started when i still presented as female, someone confused me with a guy named daniel, so my friends started calling me that. it stuck and i really started to feel like i identified with that name more than previous chosen names. i'd suggest finding people you're out to to refer to you as some of your top choices and see what makes you comfortable.
(though personally, i really like gabriel and elias)

I like Marco and Gabriel.

Antonio is nice if you live in Italy but in America I don't know how they see it.

Christian, I know at least 3 FtM's with this name. Classic? :o

Elias sounds female to me, maybe because we have Elisa in italian as girl name.

(It's not Spanish but I suggest an Italian name I like: Matteo)
What does my gender identity has to do with my pizza order?

Personally, I like Marco, Adrian and Elias best. Are there any you feel particularly drawn to? When I was choosing my name I took time to really think about which one I would really feel the most comfortable being called.

Edit: actually just saw your pic in one of the picture threads, and have to say you look most like a Marco to me. But ultimately its still what you feel most comfortable with!

You look like a Miguel to me tbh, but out of those names i think Adrian would suit you the best, but go with the name you like the most.
