Umm... What?  Pass already?  Huh?  No.  That's not even...  Seriously.  You're just being overly nice or something.

I don't think you'd pass physically seeing the pictures. Your attitude seems nice however

Some think that's hurtful to say but I prefer honesty and being direct over sugarcoating
I've taken pictures in the past when I was more androgynous in look and had no issues yet with balding hear. Couple that with having a more femme frame naturally than most men I knew I wouldnt do too bad.
A lot were simple compliments but also complete envy by others, saying I passed 100% percent.
I just don't believe that, there's so much more to it. You can look the look but if you feel very insecure about body and voice (me), are clumsy or just cherrypick environments it can jade everything

Maybe I come off negative or harsh, sorry in advance

Since you're part time, I wouldn't go with bangs yet.  But I would think about it for the future.  A nice side swept bang would be really cute on you.

And I'm with Ally...I don't see any brow bossing, at least not anything you should be worried about.

I am not super worried about a femme haircut at my current job. I am much more worried about the Trans label. You see the company added sexual orientation discrimination policies but not gender identity ones. I am pretty sure they all think I am gay, while I have 0 romantic interests in men, pride stickers on my car and laptop along with my Hello Kitty iPhone case makes people think odd things (what does a cell phone case have to do with being gay anyway?). We also have no appearance policies at all except no shorts, open toe shoes, or skirts above the knee when interacting with customers (I could get a face full of piercings if I wanted). The problem is, if I come out at this job, it would probably be the excuse they need to fire me. I am trying to get on with another company that has already said if I can get the certifications they want, they don't care what my appearance or pronouns are lol, but that takes time.

I think bangs with a layered cut to frame your face would look awesome on you. You don't have brow bossing dear. None that I can see from either of your photos. You actually look great already. But I agree with your idea of bangs or swept bangs with layers added to frame your face would look very nice on you.

Well, I am pretty sure I am going to be able to get away with a type 1 forehead surgery, but when I look at my face I have trouble not seeing it....I mean I don't quite have a caveman forehead but, ugh, I notice my brows right away. Maybe I am overly critical there IDK......The beauty website always say that people whose face is reasonably long could do well with a sort of blunt bang style. I think I could see that maybe, side swept seems kinda tough because my hair becomes very wavy on it's own, I would have to use products or heat to hold it....Not sure what I think about using unnatural stuff on my hair again. If it looked good enough I might.

I don't think you need to hide anything... Bangs are harder to keep and it might damage your hair by over-treating your hair... but yeah bangs are not only meant to hide big forehead, they are fashionable, I don't have a big forehead myself but i just love bangs, and they make you look cute :3 and younger for those who need to hide wrinkles there XD so I'm always pro bangs because I like them although i don't need to cover anything, but yeah there are different types of bangs that can help frame your face more feminine... You seem to pass already, what about styling your hair differently? curls or straight hair? It seems to me that they are very natural... Maybe change your color? you should wait 2 years of HRT before thinking about FFS in my opinion you dont need it. What are you thinking on doing?

I admit, ever since I was a little kid I was always a bit envious of bettie page and her beautiful black bangs. I would want mine longer though as to compensate for my long face...I used to dye my hair black too, but I decided when moving from a gothic to a more hippie kinda style that I would go as natural as I could. My hair is naturally very wavy, as might be obvious from my pictures I can make it curly with hot rollers pretty easily, it won't stay straight for the whole day without product....I am reluctant to start putting product or heat back into my hair, along with lots of bleaching and coloring it really hurt the quality of my hair before.

I am thinking of a type 1 brow reduction, and a rhinoplasty. Maybe more, but everything else I am kinda reluctant on, those two things alone are pretty expensive. I still need more electro and laser work before I am going to worry about FFS, but I am going to seriously start planning in the near future.

Not sure what more I can do to my face to help with passing without FFS, I am on 5 months HRT. I was almost thinking of trying to get bangs to cover my forehead, what do you all think about that?

Maybe its just me, but going by your pictures I honestly can't see how you'd pass for a guy!

You don't have a high hairline or a lot of excessive forehead Hikari and my gosh what pretty big kind of sad eyes, you have the face of a born woman whether you realize it or not.

You know, I was thinking that even if you'd part your hair slightly off to one side you might see an improvement over your already fabulous looks. Hair parted straight up the middle is a kind of a 70's men's hippie style, I dunno. You could just experiment a little to see which hairstyle might work better though. It's just a thought, my $.02 so take it with a grain of salt. As I said before you look great already. I do think layers to frame your face better would really bring out those beautiful eyes of yours.

Hikari, I just do not see a guy there. At all. But I agree with Allyda - sometimes a change in hairstyle can help too. I know for myself (because of extensive male pattern baldness) that I look better in wigs with bangs than any without. And I've been told that bangs can help further feminize a face by people who are professional beauticians. Just a thought! But I stand by my first statement - I don't see guy there at all.

After a lovely evening and subsequently having my bike stolen (Have to use public transport now, ughh) I decided I could put up a pic of what I was wearing to today. It's been years since Ive last shown my face here so why not

The lighting and closeup is probably not great

~ On HRT for 3months now. Ive had the usual development and changes I guess, visiting endo tomorrow for my first evaluation
~ It's a wig. Loathe the things but my own hair is simply too short atm for a tomboy's coupe of some sort. I starting getting thinning hair on top due to male baldness. HRT is doing a good job restoring
~ I was wearing these pants http://ak1.polyvoreimg.com/cgi/img-thing/size/l/tid/109179400.jpg and http://grotemaatschoenen.nl/dames/ballerina-s/andres-machado-2211-01-096.html with it. I do like the look but it's a bit more for for a night out than everyday wear to me
~I cant go fulltime yet because my wardrobe is pretty much empty. I'll be able to get some more soon but I need to sort out some finances
~I''ve had my first laser session and I've got plenty more paid for already so that's good. I'll probably visit them again next week for some eyebrow trimming and some basic make-up advice since I tend to go too little or way too much

While I don't think I pass (apart from the odd angle) HRT has made me feel energetic and alive again; the changes feel and look good. I'm more positive but there's lot of work to be done

For only 3 months on hrt I think you look nice. You'll get there hun. From your photo it looks like you have a good start. I'm not seeing any overly masculine traits. You look Andro favoring the feminine side to me.

Sorry to hear about your bike. I just hate a thief, and hope he's caught soon.

Best wishes  :icon_bunch:

Vivien,

Thanks Allie and Shantel

And about my bike, I shouldnt have put it such an obvious "steal meh!" position but I was fairly tired and unconcentrated...sleep-deprived, HRT seems to cut my sleeping hours in half this week ( Tingling across my body, transpiration, boobs 'getting in the way' when I want to sleep on my side)

I might post some new pictures at some point, can't wait to compare

Today, after more than one year and a half away from scissors...I paid a visit to the hair stylist and...finally I can stop wearing wigs!!!

I know I was a bit away from the forum, but I'd appreciate a few (sincere) comments =)

Do I look or could I pass as female? Did I reach the male phail pahse at last or not yet? =P (sorry for the poor lightning). From today on this will be my everyday look, should I expect to get a few strange looks on the street?

Natalie, you passed the male fail phase long ago. Your looking fabulous hun. I love your new hairstyle and better yet, it's your real hair! You might as well throw away any men's clothing you may still have. Trust me hun, you'll not be needing it anymore!

Here I am after my drastic weight loss. What do people think?

A few more:

You certainly pass, as mentioned above.

If you are also looking for recommendations to enhance your look:
(recognizing I am still new at this too, and love getting advice, so tell me to shut up if you want!)

You might try some product in your hair, and maybe shape your eyebrows a bit more (trim or pluck the bottom portion and use an eyebrow pencil to enhance and shape the upper portion).  I think the lower cut blouse in the first set of pictures works better, as the t-shirt is a bit more masculine of a cut.

A bit more light makeup around the eyes, and perhaps some thicker fem-ish frames for your glasses. Also you have the frames set low on your face, if you either get new frames or adjust them you will be looking up rather than down, which will force you to adjust the tilt of your head, that would make your eyes open wider and change the natural assumed angle of your chin/forehead. There is a reason even cis-women like to take selfies looking up at the camera from a low angle.

Posture, (pot calling kettle here) seems to help a lot. I know that it is one of the things that is going to kill me as I transition (as I am a lazy sloucher!). I have considered whether getting a corset might help me to train my back muscles to hold a more feminine pose (or maybe it would just cause me to rely on the corset? not sure).

I find what is helping me is to research what artists are taught when drawing female vs male forms, because they don't draw real features, they draw the features that subconsciously we are looking for to determine gender. I have an older brother who is an accomplished illustrator, and when he started to demonstrate how to draw women to me and my cousin the first words out of his mouth were "Now, just to be clear, what I am about to draw is not how real women look or are built".

You are doing great though Winternight,

You are doing great though Winternight,

Thank you! I'm looking to set up an appointment this weekend to get my brows cleaned up some.

The glasses can't be helped; the frames I have fall no matter what I do so I'm going to be looking into contacts (I hate glasses to begin with).

My hair definitely needs work. I think I may get a deep conditioning this weekend and get the dead ends taken off. I may ask for something that looks feminine down but not so much when pulled back. Eventually I'd like to get a fringe but that's not any time soon.

You girls are all looking good! Wynternight- love the hair colour! Hikari - you also have gorgeous very bohemian style of hair! I love it- hence my  avatar pic! Not my natural hair - I'm receding somewhat so need good quality wigs to rely on! I'm 50 and pre hormones. Get my blood test tomorrow having already been diagnosed with gender dysphoria! Hope to therefore get my girly estrogen patches soon! Xxx
