I play Dungeon & Dragons 3.5, and Pathfinder table top games the "real games" so don't go asking about real gamers when talking about video games.
Now if your a little insulted, good! Learn from it. No one likes to be challenged if they are a "real (fill in the blank)". People play games then they are gamers. People skateboard then they are skaters. People feel like they don't conform to the gender binary then they are transgendered.
I find it insulting that you feel you can invalidate someone doing something they like because they do not meet "your" standards. If you want change then be change.
Oh, I do not feel insulted, that takes a lot of hard work

Don't worry. I do play World of Darkness and tried out LoTR dice, pen, & paper games... But eh you can't really do that online so it's kinda out of the topic. In any case... As I stated I could be up debating this for hours...

Idk if I would call myself a real gamer, but I do also have lots of the games on that list. I do all if my gaming on the PC as well. I have 51 steam games, 6 Origin titles, and probably like 20 titles that aren't part of a client even though those are mostly older (like NWN, NWN2, etc). For MMOs I play Eve Online, I have Secret World and a few others I can't remember the name of at the moment.
Right now I am working thru Dragon Age 2, and getting my PVP fix in Robocraft, Titanfall, and Eve Online. If anyone wants to add me on Steam or Origin PM me and I can give you my username.
I never quite liked 2... I loved Origins though... Hopefully Inquisition won't disappoint... I'm really looking forward to it... And that's quite a big library

Could play on Steam sometime if we have any games in common.

I do a lot of gaming. I wouldn't call it casual, but I rarely play competitive multiplayer. (Not a huge fan of fps which seems to dominate that gameplay style)
I think my steam library has around 250 games and on GOG I have about 100. And I consider any titles I may once have owned through Origin dead to me...
I modified my laptop (350 GB ssd, i7, 32 GB RAM) to rig up an external graphics card with 4GB of ddr5 so I can still play games at the highest settings.
But like I said, I prefer non fps. Mostly RPG and RTS. I did play DOTA2 and StarCraft2 for awhile as well as WoW, Rift, EVE Online, Defiance, and Diablo 3. But the online stuff always for boring for me.
As I didn't get my "gaming" computer till college, don't get me started on my console/handheld collection lol.
So is that a 'real gamer'?
Gotta love GOG! Yeah I think you are

Honestly I didn't get my proper gaming PC up until 2010... I just built and upgraded an old rig (A pentium -75Mhz in 2004 x.x ) and played classics.. I think that's the reason I got into games in the first place, it was hard work to get them going and so satisfying to see when they could be (bearably) playable.... Oh such fond memories of Diablo and Civ 2, hehe... Ahh... I have tried to un-geek myself as much as possible lately though, when I play I play seriously, but I don't really get round the PC that much anymore, too busy RL.

Sorry, all minesweeper here all the tiem
No offense but I cringe a little when I hear "real" gamers - walled gardens of tiers of players and who can be included in them really hurts the industry imo.
And Solitaire! I still play them both... Occasionally, ha! Maybe, but the fact is there are many kind of 'types' and 'genres' of games... And certain 'types' and 'genres' are targeted at certain kinds of gamers... By 'real' I mean those who have been playing and grown up with a certain era of gaming for a while, and those who are used to playing in championships and tournaments.... They're who've been around the longest and have had the biggest influence, alas... My reasoning.

This world is so subjective, I don't think there really is a right nor wrong to this question.

I play some PC games and have a rather large library, but I love my consoles as well and just got a PS4 so most of my games are headed that way, especially since I really dislike Origin and EA's insistence that I have to use it to play their games on my PC. On the other side I do have a ton of Steam games, but for some reason I've decided that Steam is ok and Origin isn't.
*shrugs*
The other reason I'm angling for PS4 is that most of my friends when they get popular multiplayer games are on console and I end up all alone on PC for a few years until the GOTY or really cheap Steam sales come out and I'm kind of tired of that end of it.
I also play tabletop games. D&D, Pathfinder, Rifts, etc.
Yup been there... Kinda the reason I had a PS3 back in the day, I really don't hang out with guys that much lately alas I don't play that many games (No I'm not being sexist, but it's a given that most guys play games... And most of my friends don't. So.... Plus there's no way I could be sexist about this coz I'm admittedly a girl-gamer.) .... I never did get used to using thumbsticks x.x ... And yeah... Origins does suck... But I really couldn't play DA:O on a console... Well I did, I had the copy for the PS3 and for PC... And well, they're two completely different worlds all together as far as gameplay and graphics go... So I hadda stick to it

Main reason I like Steam is Gaben, I think most people are the same.

Depending what region you are at, I can play some League of Legend games with you. That's all I play now.
Europe!! But I haven't played in a while... And I think my toons are quite nerfed by now... But could get back on it someday!!!
