I'm interested in this surgery. Sybil said that she had it done but I couldn't contact her. I'd like to ask, Is it possible to shorten the length of the torso (thus decreasing overall height) without any severe complications and consequences? I´ve read that it´s possible to remove a part of the spine but i don´t know for sure so that´s why i´m asking. And i´m specifically asking about torso shortening NOT leg shortening. I know that leg shortening is relatively easy but i want to have a shorter torso NOT shorter legs. I would like to shorten my legs since it's easier but unfortunately I don't have long legs(5'9 height 32" inseam)

If anyone watches Family Guy on adult swim or anywhere else. The torso shortening reminds me of the show that Peter Griffin was talking about his aunt, All Legs So and So. When she took the dress off all it was, was her head on her hips and butt and no torso at all. Sorry couldn't resist because I have a twisted sense of humor. ???

But anything to do with the spine is extremely dangerous. Not just the spine they would have to remove but probably part of the spinal chord and that is bad MOJO to mess with unless absolutely nessicary.

This is one of those instances where a good therapist will step in and give you a good reality check. Be thankful that there are things we can change and accept the things that we can not change. I feel like I'm way too tall but I accept the fact that I'm a 5'11" tall amazon and you know what, despite my height I still get gendered correctly even though I'm in the 1% for women in my area when it comes to height.

When I was still pretending or at least masquerading, I met and dated a bartender, female, that was over 6'. I was still in the army and out of about 10 guys from my unit I was the lucky one. She was taller than all but one of the guys. Just goes to show that guys for the most part don't care if a woman is taller unless he has some kind of inferiority complex. Everyone was jealous of me so... I have dated guys shorter than me and their attitude more than made up for their height and they never had a problem. I think a lot of times it is more or less our problem. I would date a guy 5'0" as long as he had the right attitude and never think twice about it.

I'm 6'2" and have had a few shorter guys try to pick up on me  8)  I'm okay with it

Unfortunately, no dates have come from it though  :P

Ya' gotta let 'em at least think they are picking you up, even if later. At least act interested V M and flirt a little. Tease them with the flirting  and then give them your number and see if they call.

Who wants to be the Sonny to my Cher or the Boris to my Natasha?

I wouldn't care if a guy was shorter than me, as long as he was a great guy, that's all that would matter.

I hope not. That would break Portia's heart and no one needs to do that.

I've done all that a few times but for some reason they suddenly get nervous or just don't call, I just figure that maybe they've clocked me at some point during the interaction

You're 5'6 and you think that's short? -_-
I'm 5'11 and I wish so often I could be around you're height. The only thing that keeps it from actually bothering me is that models are around my height and I often see guys and even some girls, taller than I am. And they make me feel really small which I love

ive thought of that many times...i thought i was the only one.

The fact that her name is "katyLILgirl" and she wants to have an operation because she feels she is too big makes utterly no sense.

I think what she is doing is using these drastic measures by having people give her positive reinforcements and affirmations because she feels better if someone says "oh, honey you aren't tall...you are perfect!" or "oh honey your feet are perfect" and so forth and so on.
^^___^^ Bingo!! I'm 5-5 inches tall and wear a size 8 women's narrow shoe, and I'm about average in height maybe even a lil shorter if not wearing heels for where I live here in the US. KatyLilGirl your only 1 inch taller than me, and only 1 size bigger in shoes, and everyone considers me tiny!!

Any surgery to shorten your legs or worse, remove bones and/or cartilage is highly unethical if not impossible, and no self respecting surgeon would perform such a procedure.

The female Clint Eastwood in your sig. You might have scared the crap out of 'em if your that tough. ;) I've had the same thing happen and I figure it is because they are married except for that one night or they have girlfriends except for that one night.

I am 172 cm long. And most transgirl wished that they were just as short as me. But my own preference is that I want to be at least 180 cm long. And also I want a girlfriend that is taller than me!

I'm 5'9" (174cm) tall, and I'd love to lose a couple of inches.

That being said there is no way I'd let a surgeon anywhere near my spine!

Ha. Even that won't stop me.

I'm 5'5 2/3 (167 cm) and sometimes and I'd love to be shorter. But I already feel lucky for this being this height :) but most girls here are shorter than that, and yet most guys are taller. So I'm really in the middle. There aren't many tall girls, people here are on average short compared to Northern Europe countries. To be honest, I don't think height is as much of an issue. I am short and I've never dated >.< perhaps because I still present as guy, but I have a feminine voice and face, and I think guys don't wanna date me ughhh.

Guys actually like tall women with long legs, it's considered attractive. And any sweet guy will see much more beyond your exterior appearance too. So don't worry. :)

Just never take calcium, wait 20 years and shrink just like your grandmother did. Same results  >:-)

I think way too many of you girls are way too fixated on height. Over 6' is sexy. Under 6' is sexy. It really don't matter. I'm 5'9" and in 4" inch heels I stand 6'1" and have had guys that were 4 inches shorter than me in heels take me home and they had 10' tall attitudes. I've had guys try to take me home that were 6' 5" with 3' tall attitudes that just couldn't hold my attention. So don't feel bad about your height. When the heels come off then they will seem a little taller but really though. Who cares? I would rather have a 5' 0" guy with extreme confidence than a 7'0" guy that towered over me with the confidence of a mouse. Give me a real man anytime no matter how tall he is.

I'm 6'1"... if I knew how to get shorter I'd be saving money for it right now. If I ever put on heels I'll look like an Amazon woman. lol

Yeah? So? Tall women are in. So you would be 6'5" in 4" heels. I would be 6'1". I end up obsessing sometimes over things especially over the freaking finger ratio thing, Now it is the height thing. I am 5' 91/4", even measured myself. I have noticed more women as tall or taller than me. Yeah some are shorter but they are way more petite than normal size. Some are a tad bit shorter, most are about the same height and some even taller than me even. I have heard that Paris Hilton wears size 13 and I ain't nowhere near that shoe size. I can get away with 9 sometimes  but usually 9 1/2. I would say as long as you are proportioned the height shouldn't matter too much.

I'm about 5'9. I can live with my height, it's not my most pressing concern by any means.
