[spoiler?]Romana??[/spoiler?]...

While I'd love to see her back, not as a crazy person please...

Oh, that would be a joy. She was my second favourite to Sarah Jane Smith.

In classic Who, there was a quarry used regualrly.. It was Skaro, Telos and bunch of other places - sometimes even Earth.

I watched it a second time but found my interest wandering pretty easily. It was good enough for the job of introducing Capaldi but it's no classic...

I like the new theme because it reminds me of the classic theme(namely 80's) and adds to proof they mean what they said that the show was going to be darker and feel more like the classic series. As for the ending scene I have seen some theories she could be Iris Wildthyme from the audios(others' have suggested this also). Which would fit as.... well spoilers. But I suppose some could look her up. I would like that twist but I see her just being a new character who isn't all there.

Or for a wild theory what if she is a much older Clara that has somehow gained the ability to time travel without the doctor(similar to the t.a.r.d.i.s having an effect on previous companions and River Song) but at the price of some of her sanity?

Well this would be her third (that we see) regeneration. She should be allowed to go a little crazy

I had thought something of the sort. Add in that she might be the woman who gave Clara the Doctor's number as tech support and the person who placed the advert she could be engineering her own existence which would be delightfully recursive.

Fourth, I believe. Nineteenth century Clara, Dalek Clara, and the current companion being the three we're sure of. Isn't it interesting that the Doctor always regenerates to a new form and Clara always regenerates to the same one? Mother of Timelords, perhaps?

I've gotta say, I do like the new Doctor. I might even wind up liking him more than Tennant (gasp), if the new episode was any indication.

i watched Genesis of The Daleks recently and a year ago Destiny Of The Daleks. Lovely stories. And both had a lot of the outdoor scenes filmed in that famous quarry i forgot the name of.

Can't remember the name but Colin Baker mentioned on a commentary(I think it was Attack of The Cybermen) that he lives not far from one of the main quarry's they would film at and that it was where his household rubbish would be dumped when the trucks picked it up.

I really liked the episode...I think Capaldi is going to be great, but it's too early to say where I'd rank him...there have been some doctors that took me a whole season to appreciate before I loved them. Word has it that he really comes into his own about midway through the series.

And hasn't Clara (or the splintered time fragments of Clara) had interaction with all the Doctors? I found her fretting over his appearance and not understanding him to be the same person to be odd.

Well, that is the thing...it was splinters of her that met the previous doctors, and while she does seem to have received some memories of them, she certainly never got to know any of them like she knew Eleven, *her* doctor. I think she was less concerned about his appearance than she was about his personality.  I felt like the show was sort of scolding a certain portion of the fanbase that has been crying about the Doctor not being young and pretty. Which I certainly saw far too much of on the internet since his casting was announced. Perhaps it was a bit too heavy handed, though. I could have done without it.

The scene with the hobo in the alley (who was the late Liz Sladen's husband, btw) was brilliant, as was the whole restaurant scene.

"I bet you don't even remember where you got that face from!" he says as he also sees his own reflection.  It'll be interesting to see where they go with that.

XII is ok so far, the other night's ep was the first time I saw him as The Doctor and not Peter Capaldi, which is good

Tonight episode rocked!
It's going to drive me crazy though cause it was in Bristol, I was born here & i've always lived here but i'm not sure if it was filmed here as I couldn't tell where that old train station is, ARRRGH!!

Around our main train station there are loads & loads of disused sidings that the public can't get to, I studied the houses on the hills in the background & it looks familiar but I can't quite put my finger on the place. I'm gonna have to watch it in slo-mo (with lots of pausing) or this will drive me nutty!

Seriously one of the best episodes in this season, and I had already ranked the Caretaker and Mummy on the Orient Express very highly.

We wait for tonight. But, if it takes place in Brizzle, then I should be able to recognise a few places. Plain old England is often the most effective backdrop for The Doctor.
