Doing this without an attorney and I am feeling very confident.
Looking for any advice or for someone to burst my bubble and help me out (:

Here's what I have:

Petition: notarized and three copies plus original
Fingerprint cards: 3 of 'em

One slight issue here.  The address on fp cards is my old address. I changed my address today (also did finger prints today), so I have my old dl and paper license with correct address.  I used my current address, the updated one, on all other forms.

Oh, and I have the final order for the judge.
I'm going to file the petition tomorrow morning along with the $230 fee

After that I should see the staff attorneys office? And get a court date?

Looking for some help on these last steps.
I have printed out the social security forms printed along with my car title forms as well, but one step at a time ;)
Thanks for any help

Thank you!

It seems I'm all set then.  :D
Going to the staff attorney office in a few hours to get all filed and scheduled

Btw I've had nothing but positive interactions with local government so far.  We'll see how well the plays out in the end

I remember when I had my name legally changed, it had to be published in the 'legal voice' of the county I lived in.  That was truly the yuckiest part. I also requested a private hearing in judges chamber and it was granted. I did not want to be in the public courtroom with people staring.

Make sure you get at least three or more certified copies for later use, like your passport etc.

I remember the dread I felt about people having to know but the overwhelming joy when it was done.

Good luck :)
