Yeah I agree. Wow!

I've been afraid of changing, cuz I built my life around you.
but time makes you bolder, children get older , I'm getting older too.

Hi folks. Hair is obviously too short and doing something weird at the back and really need to start smiling in photos, but here's a pic of me in female clothes and subtle (too subtle perhaps) makeup. I did try with eyeliner but failed miserably! Obviously a long way to go but grateful for any feedback.

Nice Kiera. You look good. The light from the window behind you makes it a bit hard to see makeup or features in your face. And yeah smiling will help you glow more feminine. The outfit and your body looks feminine to me. But yeah, the window light behind you is not doing you any favors and may be taking away from your face appearing more feminine. The hair is getting there!! Yay

I like the way your body looks :) I sometimes feel like my body looks like a straight log.
However, passing is a tricky game. It's a process - with my short hair I pass most of time. If I feel I don't, I just shrug it off and would tell myself what they think about me isn't my business. Passing is also confidence even if you don't feel passing.

Be who you want to be - remember to be Kind, Respectful and Love Hard. Keep that chin high xo

@ Jade and umterps: Thank you so much. That's really encouraging to read. I know the clothing, lighting, background etc is not perfect, but I tried a few other combinations and a side profile etc and it wasn't much better. The background is light on one side and dark on the other so either way it is a problem. Also, I have never really liked clothes which fit too closely, or pics that show me that way, and posting my pics online like this was also for the first time ever. (Yes, I do have pics of my 'regular life' online but I just prefer to be lost in the background / landscape in those)

Anyway, it is good to read your replies. I have never been too muscular, but now that I accepted my GD and tried to look at myself as female, I couldn't see that either. About the elbow angle, I had read about how it is different for men and women, and that trans-women may have it closer to cis-women, though it is not a necessary condition. So I asked someone who knew about this, and he explained the biological reasons and all to me, but when I showed him my elbow angle, he just dismissed it saying it is within the normal range for males. So I was a bit skeptical about whether I am just imagining too much about myself.
Nothing ventured nothing gained

Thanks Jade :D Good point about the window, didn't think of that.

Thanks April. You look pretty in the new hairstyle.

@ Kiera: I agree with Jade. Some good lighting and a smile can often make a huge difference. Despite that, the clothes, body and hair are already there.

Hey all,
Just hanging out after a long week, and randomly decided to try on my new shirt. I'm just under 3 months HRT, and am only wearing lipstick. I'm aware of the beard shadow, and am having another session Monday.  Also, I intend to deal with the adams apple as soon as possible, and before I go public. Anyway, how am I progressing?

Please be constructive and let me know what you think!

Cheers,
Tegan

Hey Tegan,

I edited your post a little to focus on 3 picts. In the first 2 I think you are looking great. Maybe just relax a little more, loosen up :) Something in your pose seems rigid or forced , but I can't place my finger on it. But yeah you look nice, and happy too :)

In the third pic, try using red lipstick on and around your beard / mustache shadow (apply and then dab it in with your finger until blended) and then cover that with appropriate foundation color. I know it sounds crazy using (red) but what it does since your hair is so dark is it opposes the (blues) in your black hair and makes the shadow way harder to see and blends it in better.

Hope you don't take offense of me noticing your shadow since you pointed it out first  :P... just trying to give you tips :D

Ugh I'm having a day where I feel ugly and start seeing male features everywhere. I feel like I look like a dude today and it's upsetting. So yes, I am looking for some reassurance haha.  ;)

you have a really slight frame and long term HRT will definitely take away the muscle mass of your upper body. I looked a bit like you in the arms until HRT melted it away

I'd say if you smiled in a few of the pictures and posed better that it would make a world of difference

The only thing that has any bulk to it on you looks like your trapezius, but it just makes you look like you can kick some butt as opposed to screaming 'male'

IMO the light gray/white striped shirt is the best look on you... the floral print one really accentuates your upper body. I have that same problem with different shirts
Even if I don't 'kick butt' thanks a lot!
But seriously, with 17+ inch shoulders and 12 5/8 hips I can only hope I'd get less bulkier. Even though I know my arms did thin down a little and the trapezius was dramatically less pronounced when I was on HRT... I think I have a picture as a proof of that. But my body is more or less on the 'default' level as is. I'm looking into pushing some of the bulk into my hips now.

I, too, liked that shirt the best. I wish I could find something alike to wear while I'm still in constant 'boy-mode' without getting too much attention. I've always liked cute things it's just I never could wear them in my life.
I've found it takes love to make or do something, and without love it's senseless; void, empty, vain.

@ Starla: Wow, I can't believe you are pre everything!

Thanks? Lol.
I have huge confidence issues due to the fact that I am pre everything and my chest is flat as a board and I have this unwanted package between my legs  :D
But again, I hope to make major changes in the future. I just have to continue to work on my confidence and learn how to deal with the insecurity until I can fix it.

I got buried before I could get any feedback, so I'm cutting back to the front of the line.

This one's hot off the iPad last night:

The rest are from about a week ago.

A little earlier in the week. I'm not so sure that the dress is flattering to my shape. At least not yet. Thoughts?

And just for yucks, here's full-on boy-mode. At work earlier this week, and at home:

Thanks for the tip. I appreciate it.

Like I say, I wouldn't leave the house with my shadow that obvious; this is just me hanging around with no audience but my cats. I'm wearing no makeup there besides the lipstick. Next time I do get dressed up, though, I'll try your idea.

I found that when my biceps were pre-hrt, girl shirts didn't quite look right. Sleeves were too short and brought out my arms. Try a small unisex T shirt, maybe with a graphic on the front that's andro. They have the skin tight look but the sleeves are a few inches longer. A pair of plain girl's skinny jeans pairs well with a shirt like that. I have a yaoi shirt (just with ヤオイ on the front of it) that was in a small and it fit the bill quite nicely.

I always liked black shirts, and black is thinning, so there's that

I'm going to post a couple here from today. Let me know if anybody has ideas. I have a long face and try to even it out with make up with variable success...Just ordered some slimmer glasses too...Anyway, thanks girls!

Jess,
If I had a suggestion to make, I would say to further thin out your eyebrows. They could stand a little bit more delicacy. Also, a brighter shade of lipstick will enhance your lips and draw the eyes to that region of your face.

Great style.
