I've pierced both ears now but still present as a male. I had some nice stud earrings in while at church a couple weeks ago and the woman next to me commented on how "pretty" my earrings were and then she said "I mean handsome". I told her that pretty is okay too.

Awl, don't ya just LOVE it? It's kinda even extra-special to get a "pretty" comment when presenting as a male. Like they can "see" the real you anyway, ya know?

QuoteYou must be very pleased to have your whole being described as pretty Kate.

Sure, although I should mention it's not so much being complimented as being *validated*, and especially by a little girl. So many of us feel heartbroken over being cheated out of our childhood, our girlhood, so somehow hearing that from a little girl... I dunno, it sorta made me feel like maybe that girlhood wasn't so lost after all. For just a moment there, I was ten too... growing up as I should have.

Kate, you're absolutely right!!!  Good choice of words.

I also appreciate your comment about being cheated out of our girlhood. We need to hold fast to those moments that take us back to live a small piece of the life we would have had if this were a perfect world.

Time to sleep early too, strong man!  :) I wish I had that schedule, for it would leave me the entire afternoon free.  Saturdays? well, look at the bright side, you are going to be off early on Saturdays (at 2:00 P.M.  Correct?)  That means that you will have the rest of the day and weekend free.  *giggles*  ;D

     I helped someone raise some money to help a nice man who is having a hard time.  I gave the money to the man's relative and social worker today.  It turned out to be more than I expected and a woman made the collection more meaningful by starting a food collection that was equally successful.

Yay for helping!!    :)

After fifteen years of not seeing each other, my favorite brother, my brother Joseph came to the US on the 29th of October.  What a magical night that was.  Although he had seen several recent pictures of myself, it was literally the first time he saw me in person as how I am now.  Everything was so "normal" to say the least.  We hugged for almost ten minutes and cried together.  I still can't believe he is here and needless to say we'll have a family gathering this coming Sunday to welcome him "officially" :)

Tink;

May the catching-up period fly by, and your relationship with your brother be re-newed and re-invigorated;

Cool congratulations Tink. Hope your visit goes well. My little bro actually came up and visited for awhile a month or so back with his g/f. And that was the first time in approx. 2.5-3 years I had seen him so it was the first time he'd ever seen me as me.
Enjoy the time together,
Rashelle

I am so happy for you Tink.  The worst of what we go through is separation from our families.  I am thrilled that you have yours.  What a blessing.

That's wonderful Chris. New beginnings can be the best thing.

Me too!!!

We moved up to Minnesota last Wednesday (Oct 31) and I stopped by the office on Thursday to chat - but my first official day of work is today. The kids start at their new schools this morning.

We are also settling into our new home. Its the home I imagined having for my retirement years. 2.5 acres and a .5 acre pond. There is a bike trail that runs along the back property line. I'm counting my blessings!!!

Congratulations Tink. I do pray that you will continue seeing your brother in the future. None of the family has stuck by me but that's 7 years ago and it certainly not of importance to me as it use to be. But I do love reading others posts who have enjoyed a similar experience with relatives as you have.
