I think that this is something that some, or maybe many of us will appreciate, and I personally would. If anyone at all has any tips on becoming more masculine or feminine in the way you act, speak, walk or just anything! I hope that this can become a useful thread!

-Winter (I still need to change stuff in my profile! Ugh!)

P.S. I had to guess where to put this, and this seemed like the best place because I didn't want to put it in the mtf section and exclude ftm members and vice-versa.

For all of our FTM friends, I highly recommend you check out King, Warrior, Magician, Lover, by Robert Moore and Douglass Gillette. Actually, this book is great for MTF's, too, if you think of it in feminine terms. Think "Queen, Mother, Priestess, Playgirl."

I'm just a sucker for Carl Jung.

For masculinity, check out Acrobolix.com. It's largely about martial arts tricking, acrobatics, and bodybuilding. The guy who runs it, Jujimufu, is a real, macho, masculine kind of a guy. Not macho in a jerky way at all, but macho in the sense that he's super manly. Having talked to him many times, he's a real sweetheart. And he's hot, too! <3

For femininity, maybe listen to... nah, TOTALLY listen to female artists and female-fronted bands such as Frenté, Sia, Sleater-Kinney, Bikini Kill, The Breeders, and Mazzy Star.

Or you know what? To become more masculine or feminine, hang out with more masculine or feminine people. It'll rub off on ya. No innuendo intended with "rub off."

But "innuendo intended" looks and sounds like the word Nintendo.

Just be yourself and let it flow. Experiment with everything you're interested in.

Just the topic I was looking for.
I'm a large chested person, I'm not taking hormones and I can't afford a binder so there's a few things that I do.
I wear sports bra, I used to wear push-ups because those were the ones my sister bought for herself and I mimicked her but once I tried my first sports bra I couldn't go back (so many push-ups to the trash...).
I basically have a man's weardrobe, loose t-shirts, some buttons up (finding the right fit is a pain in the ass and I can't always buy what I want because the model just doesn't fit) as for jeans and pants, I can't buy them (the male models) since I have wide hips but I look for straight cut with a long rise but this could be a personal preference.
Other things that I'd like to do more often is train my voice, I've already looked up some exercises but I always forget how to do them.
Lastly, working out... I'm terribly following this advice, I'm a really really lazy person and I can't handle gyms but I try my best. I do cardio (biking, since is something I enjoy) and I combine it with other things like planks, sit-ups, push-ups (very good to loose fat in the chest area) and crunches...
For ftm's this is a web page that I really like and find helpful: The FTM's Complete Illustrated Guide to Looking Like a (Hot) Dude.

For binding, another thing that I did before I could get a real binder was to get one of those stomach compression shirts for women (pretty cheap at the store), and just fold it up so it binds the chest instead.

as someone above said, try hanging out with masculine/feminine groups of people, you'll be at their frequency after a while. Maybe try posting on a forum that is majority male as a male for FTM and vice-versa for MTF.

I think something that could go a long way for a lot of FTMs, especially those who are pre-T, is lowering their body fat percentage. We tend to carry our weight around our hips when we're pre-T or before T has caused our fat patterns to shift to a more male pattern. Lowering your body fat will get rid of your hips and give you a masculine build. Then work on putting that weight back on in muscle, especially in the upper body like your shoulders, lats and neck. It'll work wonders for fitting into masculine clothes too, especially pants.
