I live in San Francisco, things have been good here i would highly recommend but with a warning, this is a VERY expensive city.

Did you ever make it over to Ghirardelli Square?

Maybe it is like in Romania , where most of the rich people are not that rich , just showing off whatever they have , trying to be bling. For example cars , they are more 'luxury' cars in Romania than in most of the Europe I think , but excepting the ones of the billionaires , the rest are either second hand from western Europe or even stolen .
Also in Romania , although they are not as rare as before , the best smartphones or tablets are still something many people are  proud with , not just regular tools  :)

Oooo, Romania.  I would love to visit Romania some day!  :)

The closest I ever got was Istanbul.

Sorry hon, i know i should have but i just haven't had the time to really go anywhere for relaxation/sight seeing, i have been having a pretty rough time.
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain, I like watchin' the puddles gather rain.

Despite all my rage, I'm still just a rat in a cage

I don't think I could handle the lack of daylight in winter, I share the appeal of being in a remote location. If I didn't need so many medical services both trans related and not, I would move to a small Saskatchewan town.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Saskatchewan.  I grew up there.  I now live in San Francisco.  Ghirardelli Square is to be avoided at all costs.  It's a fine tourist trap, but not the real San Francisco.  It is expensive, but so is NYC.  It is particularly expensive for people who are trying to rent.

NYC and California are good but both are so expensive and restrictive in many ways and I feel will fall in the long term due to being financially unsustainable. My home state of NJ is good for trans rights in many respects but falls short in nearly everything else.

Other than wanting to move to California for the weather, I'm pretty happy in Chicago, Illinois.  Good resources, good laws.  You can changed your dl as long as you've had some work towards transitioning, i.e. electrolysis, hair transplants, hormones, etc.

I'm going to have to put a vote in for Portland, Oregon. Lots and lots of cool people, annnnnd its largest employer (OHSU) has specifically added trans-related care to its employee health insurance.
I'll have to second this one. As soon as I am able to, I plan to move back there.

Because its genetic makeup is irregular, it quickly changes its form due to a variety of causes.

Sorry if I'm digging up an old topic, but it seemed like a good one to keep alive. I lived in San Diego briefly a few years ago, but things didn't pan out and the company that was sponsoring me went bankrupt so I couldn't stay. I did love California though as I found it really easy to make friends and people seemed a lot happier than in Australia. I also love Japan and have lots of friends there. Living and transitioning though... I'm not too sure about Australia, I guess the upside would be the support of the health system, but I'd love to just go somewhere and start a new life. Maybe the UK... I have a British passport
It's lovely to meet so many amazing people!

how about 3-girl household?  Seriously though, finding a reliable roommate would make things easier on both.
