So yeah, in six months time they will get things started on letting me have testosterone wahoo. I wish they'd bloody well start it now. But they seem to think i need another 6 months of being hormoneless :/ so yeah maybe I'll be able to start hormones before I'm 18, that'd make me pretty happy. I'm holding on to the thought of hopefully getting hormones before I'm 18, it is the only thing still keeping me going.

Well, congratulations :)

You could try some changes to hair and clothing styles, if you want... second hand stores could be a good sorces, especially if size might change a bit...

and you might have a look at the mermaids, its a group specifically for transgender youth:

They can be contacted via mail or phone...

Waiting is tough and I know exactly how you feel. In the end you will get there and once you're on T, time really flies! Good luck with starting before you turn 18  ;D

hey at least it's only 6 months, right? it could be worse. when i first started transitioning, they wanted you to do "real life experience" for TWO YEARS before they would consider giving you hormones. so i, and others, can understand the struggle. it will feel like things are constantly getting in the way, or you'll never get on hormones or whatever like that by the time you want. however, when you do it will be great. i wanted to be fully transitioned (hormones and surgery) by the time i was 24 and i did exactly that. i finished my whole transition a month before my 24th birthday. it will be worth the wait, trust me.

I am always cautious of doctors who push things back. Who is to say in 6 months they will want you to wait another 6 months, then another 6 months after that? Be cautious.

It might be in their region its more usual to start with 18.
Its possible they start a few days earlier... I wouldn't worry just yet  :)

Alexthecat, yeah that's what I'm nervous about. I mean, I started pushing for hormone blockers when I was 12 and it didn't happen until about six months ago (a bit bloomin late for puberty blockers when puberty has happened but hey it has the benefit of no more evil apocalypse)

But yeah thanks everyone :)

I honestly had NO IDEA you were under 18, based on your pictures! Consider yourself lucky in that department while you wait for these next 6 months to go by. :)

I just had my first appointment with a doctor yesterday. I initially called for an appointment in April, they didn't schedule me til July, then a few days before my appointment they called to cancel. The doctor had a "family emergency", and then was leaving the hospital for another job, so they had to reschedule me with a new doctor (and almost too late; I almost killed myself the day of the original appointment). While the hospital used to work under informed consent, I guess that's not a thing anymore, and they're telling me if I can squeeze in at least 4 psych appointments in the next two months, MAYBE I can start then (and I probably won't be able to, with the long waiting lists for new patients). If not, it might not happen until December.

The waiting is the hardest part, as I've already been waiting for years, pushing it off for silly reasons. If anything, it will actually be the waiting that ends up killing me. It's moments like this I'm glad I at least started some form of natural transition months ago, even if I'm usually too sick to stick to a gym regimen. At least I can get some form of benefits of transition while waiting for the real deal.
