Have a word to your therapist on this one. At the end of the day, this procedure is your responsibility. Your body, your responsibility. Your surgeon is paid to do a job, nothing more, nothing less. You have to live with the consequences, no one else. So be sure you know exactly what you're in for.
Catherine - this is my very soon to be wife - I'm a 4th year medical student - I qualify in 18 months - I've also assisted in theatre and seen SRS performed. Believe me she does know! I'm just not always available to talk to her when she needs to talk and settle any anxieties for her because of my long shifts in the hospital - hence this thread, but have no fear she is already very VERY well informed and supported.

Sorry if this is graphic.

For me it was only testicals and scrotum that shrunk, my partner and I have sex reasonably regularly so my penis is always being stretched out which is good for the long term of having GRS.

It feels different but definitely hasn't gotten any more nerves, pretty sure that is impossible. (not a doctor) :)

For you, did the testicles become less sensitive to various forms of impact?   That was the sensation I was trying to describe earlier.

Since a few days after HRT began, various forms of tucking and leg crossing are far less painful for me.

Hmm, not really, if anything they are more painful if they are squished or hit. but they are a lot smaller so they tend to be out of the way most of the time.

Thanks ... i haven't been hit yet, and aren't volunteering.  Just noticed they seemed to be less sensitive, as you said ... more out of the way.

Well, my testicles are now about half the size they once were, which makes tucking hella easy! ;D

Other than that, my future clitoris was once 7 3/4" and about as wide as a TV remote; now it's about 5 3/4" long and only about as wide as two of my fingers.

I knew when I saw my bits shrinking so much and didn't care that I was better off as a woman.
