I trust our future in the youths hands more than current generation of leaders.
I wish I could believe that.
40 years ago, people of my generation were sure that we'd run the country (USA) better than our parents' generation was doing it. We would put an end to war, eliminate poverty, eradicate racism, live by love instead of hate, etc.
Well, my generation's been running things, and I'd have a hard time claiming that things are being done any better. Have we put an end to war, or even US participation? Is poverty gone? Is hate no longer acceptable in public discourse?
Not to put down the many people who've dedicated their lives (and sometimes lost them) trying to change things, but unfortunately, in my experience, the majority of young people end up not much different from their parents. Changing things is very, very hard, and happens very, very slowly.
