Reading this thread.  No, really.

I was having an off day, feeling down about no real progress, or even much opportunity to dress and get out recently.   So, I dropped in here and read through this thread.  Better now, the sense of depression blowing away.  Plus, I have a cat that just decided to give me attention.

Thanks!

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

My boss/adviser introduced me to a group of international scientists today using female pronouns. I did a double-take, because I was surprised he would do that. It made me feel great!

Two days late but...
Thursday:
   First shot of Estradiol Valerate!
Original Prescription was VERY LOW dosage, Dr DOUBLED it to a normal transition dosage!
Three hours later I told my son about me being trans.  (He said he is supportive, no hysteria nor negative comments)
My sister gave me a wonderful pendant bracelet
My wife asked to be more communicative with her about all this (hey, small steps, I'll take it)

I'm very happy to have so many natural born women friends. They are really the only people I can relate to since I've always just been female & a woman all my life. My body is improving a little each day but it's sure a long way before I'm a normal person. My neighbor has a new boy friend. I'm sure jealous. I wish I had a nice man to be with as his 100% woman. Oh me I so miss being with a nice man. Maybe just maybe I can fully enjoy being with a nice man one day. I sure miss the so nice emotions of a man inside me somehow.......I always felt my best where desired my a strong man.
mtF, mid 50's, always a girl since childhood, HRT (Spiro, E & Fin.) since 8-13. Hormone levels are t at 12 & estrogen at 186. Face lift & eye lid surgery in 2014. Abdominoplasty/tummy tuck & some facial surgery May, 2015. Life is good for me. Love long nails & handsome men! Hopeful for my GRS & a nice normal depth vagina maybe by late summer. 5' 8", 180 pounds, 14 dress size, size 9.5 shoes. I'm kind of an elegant woman & like everything pink, nice & neet. Love my nails & classic Revlon Red. Moving back to Florida, so excited but so much work moving

Saturday - Went biking - about 30 mile in in stopped for lunch at a restaurant with waiter/waitress service.  The Waiter called me "Mam" twice.

I started E Thursday so there's no changes, just slightly longer hair that has been in a bike helmet for a while, wind blown...etc.  Interesting I told this to my wife and her reaction was, your face does look a lot like your mother.

Maybe I will pass after all without too much surgical intervention.

I found a box of Climara patches that I did not know I had, lucky me I was about out. I've sure been thinking about men & sex a lot lately......Maybe somehow I can get moving on my GRS later this summer so one day I just have a normal sex life with a nice man.

Realizing that after 6 weeks on HRT I think I am finally starting to notice very slight breast growth and how good that feels.  I also thought this morning how fortunate I am because most men never get to experience this.  That made me feel real happy.

What made me happy today was knowing my student ID is valid again and I can check out books at the university library and get a membership at the town library (I'd normally have to pay a fee because I live in a different county). I checked out Wizard's First Rule as it was recommended to me, and I was not expecting an 800-page Stephen King-sized book.
Nothing trans-related today, but yesterday I found the voice clinic my first gender therapist said many of her clients said was really good, and about a week ago I found out my insurance will cover HRT.

Wizard's first rule is a great book!!

My therapist helped me to see that it's ok for other people to be concerned for me, she will be consulting this week with a psychologist who's got specific experience with people in transition to decide on a letter of recommendation for GRS.

The surgical practice I'm thinking about received my registration paperwork today.

I got a call from the executive director of the company I have my new second job with. The pay is great and it's work I love to do, but they typically don't pay for travel. I haven't actually started yet. We're still getting clients lined up. For the life of me I couldn't think why he was calling and it had me a little worried. It turns out that they had been discussing the clients they're assigning to me and the distance to them from my home. He was calling to tell me he had authorized a $15 per day stipend due to the unusual distance. What a great agency to work for! Welcoming, accepting and thoughtful. I hope this grows to full time.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

They say the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train. I say, climb aboard!
