Shopping therapy!
I had an MRI to get a little peek at what's going on in my head ("Yup. Empty. Exactly as we suspected") so to recover from the intense trauma (Zzzzzzz...) I indulged in shopping therapy.
It's hot today, so I dressed in white jeans and a cool teal shirtsleeve top, with my spiffy gray wig. Hey, I ain't going out half-dressed!
First stop: The Goodwill store! I score a great very high end denim blazer, and two fitted Oxford style white shirts.
Then, a quick Costco run. No, really! Whoa! They've got these absolutely beautiful midi black skirts, $12. They'll pair really well with the Oxford shirts.
I'm on a roll now. I hit the Container Store to get a larger case to hold my wig heads, then grab dinner at a nice chain place a block over. Thai Crunch salad. "You want the half or..." The whole one, please! And ice tea. It's 100 degrees outside.
I've got everything I wanted to mix in for fall and winter, but there's still some warm weather left. So, after dinner I hit Forever 21. I know, Not Age Appropriate, but if you dig a bit there are some nice things. I'm looking for a white or cream silky cami top I can wear with jeans, or the skirt for a warm weather professional look. Yup, after digging around for 30 minutes, I find one with a nice cut and length, in a Large (rare there...) and dirt cheap. I pick up a silver torque and necklace with, of all things, my old military rank picked out in 'silver' and cubic zirconia. They're cheap, and I hope they don't turn my skin green...
So, it's a lovely summer evening, I'm full, and sitting here typing away. I've got on black flats, hose, a knee-length black shirt, an Oxford shirt with cuffs neatly folded and lovely little rhinestone buttons fastened to just above my... Erm... Decolattage(?), and a bit of silver accent jewelry.
I'm very happy.
