Have you looked into laser skin resurfacing? It is commonly used to reduce the appearance of age spots, wrinkles, acne scarring, and other signs of aging and imperfections.
Fractional CO2 laser is one of the more common types used for facial skin resurfacing. I ended up getting mine done with an erbium glass laser... two of the dermatologists that I consulted with were concerned that due to my Asian skin tone, I was at much higher risk of hyper-pigmentation. But even with the less powerful laser, it was definitely worth it! I'm quite pleased with how it made my skin look smoother and younger. I personally know two other women who have had fractional CO2 laser resurfacing, and they are very happy with the results.
There is no anesthesia involved (just numbing cream), and no incisions made. And it costs significantly less than most other surgical procedures. Maybe you can achieve the look you want with laser skin resurfacing.
