TheQuestion

**skip to the end if you want the short of this**

So, I've made peace with the fact that I'm trans. I'm 28 1/2 and really depressed. I started hrt about a year and a half ago, month after turning 27, and was on for 9-10 months with probably 7 months on full dose. I was getting results. I had breast buds at 7 weeks and by the time I stopped, my butt seemed to be pretty huge in comparison and my boobs seemed about ready to really start. My face looked a decent-good bit more feminine too. I've been off for about 6 months now and all my physical changes are gone. I'm sort of afraid I botched it by starting and stopping.

Anyway, I stopped because I freaked and didn't want to go sterile. I started looking at myself differently when I started to store reproductive fat. I had a though I'd never had before. I thought, if things worked out and I found someone, maybe I'd like to be a mother. So I'm cryobanking this week. Hopefully what I have is good enough and I'm not sterile, but either way, I want back on hrt very soon.

So, my issue is that I may be delayed in seeing my Dr. for a few months. Now, I'm able to say at this point, I'm a woman. Testosterone just doesn't work for me where with estrogen, I was fine. I need to get back on asap. I still have a lot of spiro and e, but they've been in opened bottles for about 6 months. I'd at least like to get a headstart on the spiro, even if this is all sorted in a few weeks. Anyone have any clue if spiro and/or estrogen tablets are prone to degrade when exposed to the air for that long?

Thanks everyone.

If that's all you have In the mean time you might as well just try and take them see what happens I've heard they are effected from excessive heat never heard about air before tho. I'm sure it'll do something

Room temperature and out of the sun light the expiration date on my bottles is one year and they may be good beyond that. Most of the time the expiration date is a conservative  estimate so if you are a little over the date, it should still be good.

I was off estrogen for 10 years and have returned to it for about 6 months. The damage from been off it quickly reverses so you should be back on track pretty quickly.

Thanks. Yeah. I'm really hoping things go well. The run off e did make me realize I'm far better off with female hormone, which I guess makes me a bit less worried in restarting. My weight dropped back down after stopping. I'm at 148lbs right now. I'll drop to 140 and then put on about 30-40lbs with cycling up and down for a few years, eating tons of protein. It seemed to be working.

Drug expiration dates are required, but aren't based on scientific facts.  Drugs are guaranteed to be safe and effective until the labeled date.

The US Military stores vast amounts of drugs of many kinds.  They asked the FDA to do a study which found that 90% of drugs were safe and effective 15 years after their expiration date.  That's right, 15 years.

If you don't believe me, listen to Harvard Medical School:

Of course if you are talking about injectables in vials, you need to make sure the drug in the vial is not contaminated by a less than sterile needle.  It is good practice to wipe the rubber stopper of the vial with an alcohol prep, preferably before and after drawing.

My boss's mothers was a nurse and would fly down to Mexico to run clinic for the locals. She had an arrangement with the drug stores to receive anything that we nearing the expiration date for the clinic. We would end up with boxes of stuff in the office and she would sort out the ones that weren't worth the risk from everything that was usable and she kept most of it. I even nailed a couple of boxes of antacid for my roommate as there was far to much of it.
