Well, this is the first time for me going to a support group and I'm pretty exited.

Good for you Steph. I know it was a wonderful experience for me. I hope it is for you as well. Just having knowledge of a room full of people just like you is really very calming. If you can make a few friends so much the better. I'm trying to make it a regular occurrence.

I've been going to one for well over a year. It's helped me and I've made some good friends. Friends I can speak with completely openly. My group just clicked. My therapist says some do and some don't. I wish you the former.

Congratulations!

Great!  Just being able to share with others, face-to-face, can be a huge relief.  I hope the group works out well for you.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

I went to my first one last week,  and although at first I was basically going as a "checkbox" item for my psychologist....it turned out to be a great experience.  There are some wonderful people there with some amazing stories (both good and bad) but I believe the process to be healthy and I feel like I can make some wonderful friends.   My wife and I have been talking through things for months  (cheap therapy :) ) which I feel put me far ahead of some girls that were just coming to grips with things....but that environment certainly made it easier and more comfortable for them to get things out.

Well, I went yesterday it was interesting. Besides a cis female moderartor  I was the only other female there. There was around 11 of us and and everyone else used he and him as pronouns.

It was a bit different than expected, everyone there except the one female moderator was over 50
