Today I went to work for the first time after shaving my arms. Noticed some strange looks... I'm pretty sure that some people made comments in my back... But nobody asked me anything, everybody was friendly. It was business as usual. And it felt really good to finally have smooth arms...

I'm a hostess at hamburger marys & I was telling the DJ a story about my transition and he got a shocked look on his face, said he had no idea I was trans & can usually tell bc most of his friends are trans performers, made me feel passable and happy

Was in Boy's town in Chicago this evening (alone).  I was walking down the street (BUSY after a Cubs baseball game) and I was passed by a guy who said something to me (I typically ignore people on the street) and I just kinda grunted something back.  He stopped turned around and as I looked back he said - be happy you look fabulous!

Happy with the comment, not happy at the same time.  I guess in that part of town I don't pass very well as people are kinda expecting it.

I found out the my insurance will almost certainly pay for voice therapy and electrolysis. I will be trying to confirm it tomorrow.

:o :o :o Lucky you!!! My policy seems to specifically exclude electrolysis as "cosmetic." Can you PM me the details of how you worked this out?

Congrats!!

I will post it here too since it might help others. Since WPATH recommends it as a treatment for gender dysphoria it should be covered. In my case, I need a doctors recommendation, which shouldn't be a problem since she has helped develop the standards of care. I talked with my insurance company and it wasn't covered unless medically necessary.

Two days ago I went to a first appointment at a hair clinic, in Paris, to plan my hair transplant. There was a female physician and her assistent, both quite young and pretty (early thirties I would guess). When the physician asked me where I would like my hairline, I very hesitantly said that I'm transgender and was looking for a hairline such that it would allow for a nice feminization after surgical hairline advancement (which I know I will need). And they both reacted so naturally, so friendly... It was my first public coming out!!! And it felt sooooo good! [emoji5]

In the meantime, I received an estimate... €4490 (about US $4815) for 6000 implanted hairs by the FUE method, in Budapest (Hungary), including a 3-night stay at a premium flat, lunches, medication and transfers from and to airport. The price is not inclusive of flight to Budapest, but from Brussels, a non-stop round trip would cost €130 ($140), so it's okay. I'm inclined to accept and I will probably doing it in Augustus, at the beginning of a 2-week vacation. Yippee!

Hugs, Sarah

My previous attempt to post seems to have not posted, so sorry if I end up with two!

I bought my first scrunchie, some clips and a brush today. I don't even have long hair (got made to cut it as a teenager), just a wig when I get a chance. It feels nice though. It has made me happy :)

My first trip out doing errands around town, and I got gendered correctly two for two times.  In the jeweller's to pick up a pendant that I had dropped off under my old name, I said I was there to pick up a pendant for Keith.  She said he'd have to come in to sign for it himself.  Then, taking our cat in for a checkup, the vet thought I was Keith's sister.   ;D

Had my fifth laser session today, i have probably 90% gone already.
The girls are so nice to me too, I feel so normal in there.
She was asking if I have a female name and if I would want to change it on the system... How nice :')

Awwwww, that is so nice! Do you get a friendly reaction in most places?

I think that the first time somebody calls me Kaylin to my face, will be one of the happiest times of my life...

forms came from Northhampton GIC yesterday and booked appointment with the GP that's been handling it but that's a week next Wednesday. Got a phone call at work today ,can I call in at docs tonight and sign consent form as they have been sent a set as well, so did that and a different GP is going to fill them in over the weekend. She will call me to discuss them on Monday (have a day off) so they are pushing for me.

Over the last 2 days, 2 people at work said yes ma'am to me.  Both from different departments, and both were not told by me about my transition.  They did a double take and said sorry, so I don't know if it was habit as most other managers are female, or out of the corner of their eyes I registered female, or someone I told spilled it to them.  No mater which way it was, it felt good.
All the worlds a joke, and the people, merely punchlines

I received a lovely letter of support and acceptance from my younger brother.  I had been worried how he would take my coming out, so I had tears of joy when I read it.

I had to smile to myself today. I was in TKMAXX looking for a Summer top. I couldn't find anything in the Women's section, but I found a nice plain top in the men's section!! As I was going to the changing room to try it on, the assistant asked "How many items do you have?"  I replied "One", then she said "Women's changing rooms to the right." The crazy thing is that I was dressed in my normal clothes ( skinny jeans, jacket, woolly hat and boots) and that I'm not on HRT yet.

What made me happy today? Coming out to my Aunt, Cousin and Granny today.
They wher all great about, I was shocked. I can't believe my granny, at 90 years old she is unreal :') so full of wisdom, she is just amazing.
They had known something was up, and so I finally came out about what was going on.
