Facial wrinkles
May 29, 2017, 10:23:57 PM
I have been on estradiol for a few weeks now. Before I went on HRT, I looked at the craggy wrinkles on my cheeks and areas below my eyes and wondered how I would ever look like a woman. I looked again and they were gone?? Can the HRT do that?
Cheers,
Dana

Yes, depending on your age and the degree of facial wrinkles you have. Estradiol does cause a softening of face features mainly due to water retention in the top layer of the skin (epidermis). Estradiol also increases collagen in the lower layers(dermis). Estrogen reduces face wrinkles mainly in post menopausal women. Women with a trans history have a similar situation.

Hrt shifts fat around in the face and also softens the skin. Maybe a combination of that is what improved your skin.
