I have been on my hrt regime for little over a month. The breast changes are real! I was wondering, how long does the tenderness and nipple pain last? I am excited for the pain because it means progress. It is a little bit of a pain, lol! ;D

That will depend on your body response.  I have been on HRT since september 2016 I really haven't had a lot of pain but mine has mainly  been itching.  Like I said it depends...YMMV

  Hi Jailyn,

I'm Laurie, Welcome to Susan's Place. come on in and get comfortable. If you haven't already I invite you to hop on over to the introductions forum and start a thread there giving us a bit of information about you so we can get to know you a little bit better.
To answer (and YMMV ) for me it has been 6 months and tender boobs a good part of the time. Sometimes they actually hurt. Sometimes it's an itch. sometimes all three. I can say I am genuinely pleased with their growth so far.

Keep taking your  meds and sit back and enjoy the ride.

  Hugs,
   Laurie

Hi, Jailyn.  "Be sure to read, understand and follow all of the safety rules that come with your new boobs."  :D

Mine hurt for a month or two, while they were doing most of their growing.  Now, at five months, the growth rate has slowed down considerably (Actually, I think they've stopped growing.  Waaah!! :icon_cry2:) and the pain has diminished accordingly.  They are still quite tender.  If I bump them or brush against my nipples, they hurt.  I am hoping that that means they are still growing, albeit slowly.

Hi Kathy,

I was beginning to think mine were not growing or at least had slowed way down. But them I noticed they appear to be beginning to fill a bit instead of pushing out. I'm seeing them begin to get that "hang" look to then on the bottom and a more defined crease. I smiled and smiled when I noticed this. More and more they are BOOBS real boobs!  At 6 months I am happy with their progress for sure.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I am going on 9 months, and have barely had any growth, but they are still sore and have been almost the entire time.  However, to be fair, I already sort of had some to begin with, so maybe my weight loss efforts has stunted their growth.

I've been on hrt for 2 years. Mine were really sore for the first 3 months and then they were just tender for a while. When I take the progesterone during the end of the month they get sore for a couple of days. Your nipples are going to be more sensitive than they were before hrt. But that can be a very enjoyable thing with the right partner.😋

My breasts were tender for about 6 months.

The soreness started within a few days and stayed that way for about 3 or 4 months, than gradually wore off. By the time I was on HRT for 6 months, I did not notice any additional soreness.

I am just about a year into hrt, tenderness first showed up at about the two month mark and growth became noticeable at three to four months. My breasts are still growing and tenderness is still present  sometimes more intense, sometimes less. The sensitivity has been there through out the growth so I have gotten used to it and even enjoy it, I would miss it if it were to go away. It keeps reminding me of the magic journey that I am on.

So I'm 4 months on HRT but honestly mine started filling slightly during the three months prior when I was using things like flaxseed, mint tea, and saw palmetto to reduce my T levels. So to my situation into perspective, I have had low T in general for about 7+ years anyway. During that time I had really slow tissue growth start. First just a bead under the nipple. Then it was under the whole areole. Pretty much as far as it went. When I limited my T more with diet I started getting aching in the breast area. I also started loosing more muscle mass pretty quickly in those months. The aching radiated outward from the tissue under the areoles.

I then started low dose E, spiro, finesteride for 3 months. This is after my therapist wrote the letter and I got to see my endo. During this time there was more of a constant aching. They definately grew some. A month ago I got a full dos of E and added P. The first three weeks the nipples were very painful to bump. Like super painful!  >:( They both got really firm under the areoles. At some point this started expanding outwards. It's kinda strange how they go from small to being quite noticeable pretty quickly. Only a high support sports bra keeps them close. A regular comfort type bra and they look just like another girls boobs.  ;D ;D Hopefully they will keep this up so at some point they more match my frame size.

I think they grow in stages. Like they grow more under the nipple area then for a while slowly fill. Then repeat again. Yeh and so my left is bigger than my right. Eh what you gonna do?

Mine don't really hurt at this point.  I have been taking HRT since September 2016 and injections since January of 2017.  I already had some minor development from taking self-med hormones off and on in my younger days.  For me it has been more low grade itching that I have been feeling here recently.  The only time I can say they actually hurt is when I  handle them and press on them.  Slow and steady I suppose.

I didn't realize until now, the metal bra Madonna wore was functional.  But I can't afford one - hers sold at auction for something like $52,000 USD.

I'm about 4 months into what my endo described as a "starting dose" of estradiol via patch form. I had some of the same effects as some of the other ladies who have posted in this thread. I started to notice tenderness in the nipples within 2 weeks of starting. The tenderness got quite bad over the next 3 months. Over the last month, I've noticed the tenderness has gone down to about half the painfulness that I had previously been experiencing. There has certainly been some growth, to where it is plainly visible under even moderately tight clothing. I've taken to wearing a sports bra whenever possible to give the nipples a bit of protection when I brush up against something accidentally and also to hide the constantly erect nipples. My GP suggested the best way to measure whether there is actual growth is to measure vertically from the collar bone directly down over top of the nipple to where the bottom fold of the breast comes into contact with the torso. By that measurement, I've grown about 1.5cm over the last 4 months. So far so good.

I have my 1st follow-up endo appointment next week during which I will be asking her to ramp up the dosage to normal transitional levels. I'm quite happy with the results so far, though I find it hard to judge my level of growth by just looking into the mirror every day.

Hi Dana;
What size did you go with. I am currently looking at 545cc over the muscle mentor round high profile.

I ended up with Natrelle 695cc under the muscle round high profile.  Doctor was torn between 770 and 695 and on the day of surgery went with 695.

Funny thing was on my 3month checkup he said "I could go bigger in the future, if I wanted to."  LOL..   I don't think the doctor expected them to do as well as they have (yesterday was 6months to the day).

I've been wondering about this; would anyone here say that as the pain/tenderness/soreness, the tissue growth increases as well?  Or maybe the tenderness occurs after the growth, as a kind of side effect?

I'm curious, for sure.  After years of wishing I could transform into my proper body I've come to welcome the pain, since it means it's working.
Hey all, I've created a new account because my life has begun anew.  This is to protect my identity.  Thanks for your understanding!

Well, after 2 months of hormones my nipples started to itch. Then it was pain. My breasts started to develope slowly since then, but the big change happened after 7-8 months, when they suddenly became noticeable.

Now, after a year and 5 months I still feel pain, and they keep growing slowly. I'm happy with the size, but it bother me that the nipples stand out too mucha and make my breasts look pointy instead of having that regular round form that girls have... I don't know if that's normal, or if I'll ever get round boobs.

For me, growth = pain but not necessarily in everyone.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience
