My wife has one functional arm but she knitted me this lovely scarf with one hand. It took her all year.

It is gorgeous and so is she

I got cold. I  spent the afternoon on Boston Common walking around wearing my Santa hat, saying Merry Christmas to everyone. So besides cold, I got a ton of smiles for Christmas.   :)

Well, since only my wife knows, she bought me a pair of long brown boots (and some very pretty lacy panties which she knows I love the more girly things!).  She also bought me a cute LBD and a nice top from JCP.  With the after Christmas sale, she bought me two more pairs of boots and is ordering another new dress!  I am excited but now I need to get up the courage to wear them more!  LOL

Cindy that is one pretty lady with a hand made scarf.
We do the dirty Santa thing.  Bring a gift, take a number, and steal each others gifts.  I sole my sister-in-laws gift, a battery pack multi-thingy for the car.  You know, it will jump start your car and fill tires with air and charge your phone and has a flashlight too.  Then my sister stole it from me.  Damn there goes Xmas.  I picked another gift and got a 7 in 1 rice cooker to pressure cooker thing.  Got to keep it and i actually thought of getting one.  So was good.
Funniest steal was 2 nieces ganged up on my brother to steal his tea gift pack.  It was bam, bam.  Girls are so devious.  My poor college student nephew got a huge electric griddle that he DID NOT need.  We made fun of him, but afterwards my sis-in-law swapped him for something more useful.
My giftS fell flat.  Who the hell would not want Loon cocktail napkins???  Along with other cool things,  $100 sunglasses and Tweetie bird glasses and ceramic chip and dip lazy susan.  Some people.

On Christmas Eve I got a very heavy 24h shift in the ER.. [emoji43]

On Christmas Day I got a box of my favorite Belgian pralinés and quality time with my wife and my two kids, with lots of love, hugs and kisses. [emoji7] I felt like the luckiest girl in the world! [emoji4] I offered us a New Year in London in family, including tickets for the fireworks and a ride on the Coca-Cola London Eye! Departure in a few hours... [emoji574][emoji312][emoji565]

As material gifts, I'm giving myself a full FFS and a tummy tuck in less than two months... But that's more a necessity than a gift. [emoji6]

Hugs, Sarah

I got 2 cast iron cookbooks, 2 spatulas and 2 spice racks.  My sweetheart couldn't choose, so I got 2 of each.  Keeping them all.

I got a "care package" full of "For Men" toiletries and other odds that I redistributed and a few gift cards including one from the dearest and most wonderful friend and sister I could ever wish for - She knows who she is

Turned a bleak day to sunshine

Love you Sis

Cast iron cookbooks would be so cool. I didn't know they made cookbooks for cast iron cookware. I totally love cast iron. The lady next door gave me her castiron cookware because she doesn't really cook any more and the cast iron is too heavy for her now. It's funny, when she first offered them to me I said no thank you. I thought they were ugly and none of them were nonstick. I didn't think they could be better than my kitchenaide cookware.  She told me to take the frying pan home and use it a couple times and then I would want the rest of it. She was totally right. I love the fact it's all oven proof too. She's such a sweet lady.

That's cool the old dear gave you her cast irons  ;D  That means she sees you as a daughter or someone special to her

I have a couple of cast irons, a round fry pan and a square grill pan - I think they're great and they tend to be my daily use
go-to pans

I'm not sure but I think I actually did buy them with gift card money  ;D

I also have a couple of non-stick pans but they tend to be item specific for omelettes and stuff

It's kinda funny because I never really learned how to cook until I became disabled from injuries, it's now become a passionate hobby of mine and I love finding new recipes to try

She must really like you.  Often cast iron pans are handed down in the family.  Well seasoned pans have a patina that works better than Teflon without all the poison.  I have 5 different sizes of skillets and 4 Dutch ovens.  I got them from my grandma. Love! Love! Love them!
