It must be something that is peculier to the West. In Asia, especially Thailand, it does not not matter. I have men hitting on me knowing I am, by reputation a tg female. I have dated men professing their love for me and its not only me, but my other local tg friends also. Most tg girls here are not lesbian. Many are getting married. Strangly, many with western men. Maybe its the western men living in the West and feeling pressure from their western  peers, that makes them put up a front.

Of course being gay here is no big deal either.

I do understand the logic.
I mean in romance we all have preferences and maybe it is sad...
But it could have been any other way as well.

Interesting that most MTFs there you say are not lesbian.

I get the impression from reading so many posts on this website (which mainly covers US, Canada, UK & Australia) that lesbian or asexual MTFs outnumber the straight or bisexual ones.

I wonder if this is some form of narcissism.  A lot of people can't see past their own nose or their own feelings.

Years ago, a gay friend of mine couldn't accept that some people were bisexual.  He thought they were just afraid to be honest with themselves that they were gay.  He was 100% gay and assumed every other gay or bisexual person would have the same attractions as him.  He had a masters in psychology by the way.

Pamela, I am equally suprised that tgs in the west are mostly lesbians. Many men here prefer tg women, claiming better communication and understanding. Older men like us because we are tighter and sexually more satisfying. I started with younger men and now kinda like older confident men. Finally, we are alot more interesting and  beautiful than most cis women of equivalent age.

People were shocked when told them I was still interested in women. Most people in the US seem to think only gay men want to transition to women.

I decided to ask my dad and get his reaction. I asked him what he would think if I decided I was lesbian and what he thought about trans women who were lesbian. He said he didn't have a problem with anyone's sexual preference but that in my case he said he would have a hard time getting used to it. He said it wasn't a matter of accepting it, it was just that I had always been so boy crazy and liked guys so much that I wouldn't seem like me if I started dating girls. I think like Katie said guys go along with it being better for transwomen to be lesbian because they are in a group. I don't think they necessarily believe it. Guys are weird about lesbians though. Most straight guys think lesbian sex is very hot. I don't understand why but they do. Tristan and I were talking about bi people once and I asked him if he would approve if I was bi. He said he totally would and that it would be really hot to watch me with another girl. Yeah, ok. Ewww!
