MyonNyan

Hello, I was prescribed estradiol yesterday, but I need a brand name, where I live they onle sell Totelle that contains:
* Etradiol, 17-beta
* Trimegestone
or the Primogyn that contains:
* Estradiol valerate
Or should I get Conjugated estrogens?

Which one works better ?

Hello MyonNyan
I am happy that you joined us and have just made your first post on the Forums.

Per your question in your posting below, your doctor is the one you should be asking this question about the various drugs that they use for HRT...
As far as which one "works better" your doctor will specifically prescribe the one that as a result your blood tests and other factors relating to your body will work the best for you, not necessarily for anyone else. That is the reason why medically supervised HRT is the only route to go for the hormones and drugs our own bodies need for transitioning.

For general answers for other members herethis is the right place for you to be to find out what others have done that may have been in your circumstances. Be aware that there are lots of members here that can identify with the issues that you brought up in your post.

WELCOME to Susan's Place.  You will find this a safe and friendly place to share with others about your transition and to read about others transitions and their trials, tribulations, and successes in their transition journey.
It is nice that you have signed up so you can share with others and involve yourself with some give and take with other members.
When frustrated or if you have a successful moment in your journey you can share it here if you wish and receive support from others and offer support to others. ....

***It's a very good chance that you might find that you will make some new friends here.

Please come in and get involved at your own pace.  Be sure to look at the LINKS that I included below because they have important details about this site and the Forums ...there is information that will help you navigate around and best utilize the features here.

Welcome to Susan's Place. Normally you don't get a choice however Etradiol, 17-beta or Estradiol valerate are equally effective. You should avoid Conjugated estrogens as they are quite expensive and aren't really the best option when one of the other two is available. I was on Conjugated estrogens for years as at one time it was the best thing that was available however I am now on Etradiol, 17-beta. Etradiol, 17-beta is cheap, effective and safe so I prefer it to my previous treatment. Estradiol valerate is probably more expensive but it converts to Etradiol, 17-beta in the body so there shouldn't be much difference between the two.

We always prefer bio-identical Estradiol.

Totelle, as you noted, contains the Estradiol, but also Trimegestone, which is a progestin. Trimegestone is not available in the US or Canada. It is available in Europe and Latin America.

If plain Estradiol is not available in your area, then my preference is injectable Estradiol valerate.
