Not sure if anyone else has had a go on snapchats new gender changing filter. But i think its amazing on how realistic it makes you look like a girl.

Here are a few pics of what it did to me.

I'd love to do something like that for my avatar, but I'm not on Snapchat and have no plans to be.
I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

I just tried another one called FaceApp and was not impressed by the results.

I used that faceapp one aswell and wasn't impressed. The snapchat one is much better.

I thought the filters were pretty fun, not accurate at all lol, but fun. I hope it opens up conversation about gender for people.  If you can use the gender filter, there should be a sign acceptance that youre not allowed to be nasty or ignorant about gender if you use the filter  ;D ;D

Snapchat filter works better than Faceapp :D At least, in this case I looks like girl instead of monster from hell ;D braid mine, rest of hair was replaced by filter :)

Oh, and I can't get angry face from that. So sorry, there's only neutral one >_<

Only works for IOS so, don't waste your time trying to set it up (like I did) Android folks.

Snapchat works on Android phones as do the filters. They were pretty great

I don't have "Additional Services" anywhere in my settings after enabling location. I saw another How To which showed IOS only. I mistakenly assumed that since the options weren't there for me that it really meant it worked on IOS only. Sorry. Looks like I have a little more digging to do.

Here's what I saw in Snapchat's help.

I downloaded it right away when I heard. Now it's dysphoria fuel, I should probably delete it

Yup. Just makes you want and wish more.

My avatar was done using the Snapchat filter.

I love it!

Although, I wish it would keep my naturally very curly hair instead of giving me the straight hair.

My hope is, that once on HRT and after some time has passed, I will look more like the female me in the photo than what I currently look like.

I included both photos for a comparison.

Oh, please let me look like that!!!!
I'd be so happy to look like that eventually.

*sigh*

And yes I agree, it does nothing to lessen my dysphoria either.

Wasn't too crazy about Snapchat, but Faceapp's gender change options are pretty sketchy as well.  I find Faceapp to overall be better,  but the key is you have to have it identify you as a female and just give you female cleanup options.  Some of those don't really alter your face,  just clean up skin tone,  which feels about as honest as any celebrity photo... IOW... not very.

Trick is to get the App to recognize you as female in the first place.  My new source of AI driven dysphoria.

I found that the elephant filter makes me the least dysphoric for my profile. 🤣. Kidding of course,  was a photo I took in Africa,  which bothers me less to see every day.

a lot of fun for sure, but it does take a lot of liberties. I mean, ultimately we're confined by our skeltal structure.

With me if I go for male it gives me a much squarer jaw but it's like they added putty to my face rather than just removing the cheek pudge. My jaw IS fairly square but it'll never be that chiselled because I don't have the bones for it.
Likewise if I click "female" it shaves my jaw in a really creepy way giving me an anime chin and tiny lips (whaa?)

though at least it doesn't shrink my nose like the faceapp one did. and it keeps it crooked haha.

It's fun though. I rock facial hair hahaha. Shh, don't tell my husband. He gets jealous.

I actually like the filter. Although I do have to note that Faceapp is one factor that triggered my dysphoria to a new level recently, so I'm not saying these things can't be bad. However, I feel like (for me) Faceapp made me super beautiful with a flawless face, whereas Snapchat keeps a lot of my facial imperfections but just feminizes me. Thus, Snapchat looks more like me, which makes it feel more relatable. I've always hated selfies because, well, you know, my body is the wrong sex. But with Snapchat, I suddenly want to take selfies.

Faceapp is a bit weird, though. It really differs on how it does each picture, so what I said above is just a generalization.

I'm not sure of the algorithm that Faceapp goes by but, no matter what picture of me I send it, it still makes me her. Still makes me wish I had the courage to check out because I'll never be her. Or a her most likely. I know I'm kind of preaching to the choir. There are a lot of lovely and lucky ladies here but I'd bet there are also a lot more lurking dreamers. If I offended anyone, please forgive me, I'm drunk.
