First an update:

Many of you have read that I got into a car accident and my Cadi was totaled.  Well I got what I call a chick car.  '97 Ford Tarsus.  A really cute car.  Well thats $2500 I don't have for Transition.  >:(

I spent the day yesterday shopping with my BFF Peggy and ran into..... nothing.  In fact, a Walmart employee even said "Excuse me, Ladies". The day was total awesome!

I found out that Oregon will allow me to change my name and gender on my driver license, with a letter from my therapist.  I asked him for the letter.   Afterwards I'll look into changing my name legal.  It may take awhile for the court t act, so I figure I would go this way first.

On an interesting note, I turned in a Transition Packet to my Store Manager today.  I've stated that by the end of Summer I want be full time.  We shall see what they said.

Tommorrow will be interesting as I told my boss to tell the guys I work with about me.  That way if there is a problem we can work around it, I hope!  And by then my Store Manager will have time to digest my Transition.

I shall keep you posted.

OK my boss did not tell anyone.  But then only Mark and Bruce were working, yesterday.  But I told Bruce today.  He did not care as long as I was doing my job.

The store manager was not in today so I'll just have to wait.

I am so hoping that the company is willing to allow me to go full time.  I really hate being in boy mode.

Had another laser yesterday and another in a month.  It is getting easier to handle the zaps.  My technician wants to wait until winter for the arms.  But soon we go to the back and chest.

The Park Manager said that she would start calling me by 'Janet' all of the time regardless how I am dressed.  ;D

More later.

Congrats, Janet!

Hope it continues to go well.  Coming out seems like on one hand it's relief to have it out in the open at work; on the other hand it seems scary as he**.  Good luck!

I've decided to wait until after I've been on T for a while before coming out to any more people.  I have my first endo appt. in July but likely wont' get T that first time.  I'm assuming blood tests and stuff, and I want to have had my hysto.  I'll start the name change proceedings about a month before I come out so that's done and it's all official.

Thank You, Jay Honey,

I am also going to change the name legally, also.  There is a organization here in Portland that helps with the process.  They also have grants to help pay for it.

I have been on HRT for about two months now but I am not going to wait for great changes.  That could take up to two years or longer.  I hate living in two worlds and it is time to kick 'his' butt to the curb.  ;D

Much Love,
Janet

Thank You Nichole,

That means a lot coming from you, Big Sister.

Just a quick note.

Well four down and one to go, but he is on vacation for a week.  Still have not hear from my store manager, but he was off for two days.  Maybe so.  I'll keep you posted.

Today, Richard, my boss and I were talking about overtime and how many hours I still had to go to 40 for the week.  I answered him and he said something, I dont remember what.  But I replied "A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do".  He stopped what he was doing and looked at my a moment.  Then he started to laugh and shake his head. I looked at him and said " Oh do you just get that?"  Smiling.  He said yes and kept on grinning.  ;D

My BFF Peggy's son stop by to look at the Cadi.  He wants it.  He looked at me and said " This is the first time Ive seen you 'dressed'".  " Damn you look like a real woman".  He meant it as a complement and I took that way.

Damn but the girl is having a great day.  I'm going to order a pizza and celebrate

Love,
Janet

PS I love the buzz, Jay :icon_kiss:

Well now, according to the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles, there is yet another woman driver on the roads.   ME.  I changed my drivers license today. Officially to the DMV, I am Janet Lynn O'Brien, Female.

Now I get to fill out the papers to make the name permanent and legal.  And then file.

And I when to a restaurant today with my BFF Peg and I was now treated any differently than any other woman in the place.  It was awesome!!

Officially by the DMV,

Hi Janet Lynn, just wanted to congratulate you on your drivers license, what a milestone that was for me. I will send prayer that all will go as well with the rest of your name change on the rest of your documents. I also send prayers that all goes well with management at you place of work. I also pray that nothing goes wrong on your job.

Well it has been interesting at work.  The word has spread about my license and several girls at work have ask to see it and the majority of comments have been ' I would not have recognized you ".  One of the girls asked me today when I was going to have my nails done, mind you I am still in boy mode at work.  I said as soon as work and I have worked things out.  Its funny that the only guys that have seen it are the guys I work with.

Maybe it is a girl thing, Don't know.

Speaking of work, I have an appointment tomorrow with the district HR manager at 7:00 AM.  This is going to be interesting.

Will keep all of you posted.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Madames and Monsuiers, Boys and Girls of all ages.

T minus 60 days and counting to FULL TIME.  :icon_dance:

Well I had my meeting with HR this morning and it was short and sweet.  She asked how I was doing and we talked a bit.  Then she said that Lowe's did not have a problem with my transition and we agreed that September 20 would be the date that I would be going full time at work.  She is going to check with Corporate on how they want it to be handled as far as the store employees are concerned.  She asked if people ask what should say and I said refer them to me.  She said that she thought that would be best, being that I am very open about coming out.   This is pretty much new uncharted territory for her, but there is a 'brother' that works at another store.  And I think there might be a brother at my store.  I have shown my license to a couple of people that might just spread the news as fact.  They are the type that love to gossip.  So if there is a 'brother' may be he will come to me for help, or just someone who understands.

SO thrilled,
Janet

oh wow, janet.  "you go girl" sounds so trite.  you must be on cloud nine and still going up.  as an older sister all i can say is...sever every minute.  it's all so wonderful and soon it'll start running together but each and every day and each and every minute from now until who knows when will just keep getting better and better.  even the disappointments and setbacks will seem trivial to what you've already endured bringing you to this point.

after a couple of years of transition, when i was really getting down to making a decision about grs, i had to ask myself this question..."is it possible for life to get any better then it is now?"  i really wasn't sure i could answer that question in the affirmative.  but, imagine a t-girl asking herself such a question in the first place.  just two years earlier i'd been wondering how things could possibly get worse. i did listen to those who'd gone before and knew how i was feeling.  each and every one said, "yes, believe it or not...it just keeps getting better."  i'm glad i listened and took their thoughts to heart.

that's the way it is now, girl...one day better then the last.  like puppy love that grows into a mature love, the infatuation is a thrill but the maturity is for real.  of course you cannot do it, but take your time...<even i had to laugh when i said that eventhough i knew i was going to> enjoy it, smell it, taste it...engulf yourself in the magic and never look back.  God bless you with...

WHOA. Name/gender change with therapist approval? Maybe it could happen to me before HRT...?

Naw, my hopes are too high up. They'll probably make me wait for the gender change.  >:(

Well, I'm very happy for you. :) This is wonderful news.

Yes PJ I have past cloud nine and I think I just saw the Lord with a smile on His face and thumbs up.  And I have been looking into GRS doctors.  >>giggles <<.
