Have someone near you called out the word "->-bleeped-<-" or "gay people" and it just felt like that person outted you but wasn't talking about you or too you?
:embarrassed:

If so, is there any bright side (anything you think of?)you use to NOT take offense?

In school, there are some people that say the word gay, and i just feel outted. Rather its gay, lesbian, trans... i belong in that category because we are a family and it just feel like IM outted.

Is there anything i can think of when someone say something that i can use to not take offense?  :-\

I have used,"there ignorant and there minds are as little as a roach!" It helps a lot, what do you use?

RoseBlossom, my dear, how are you?

Only tonight I was sitting in with my girlfriend watching a comedy dvd that refered to 'ladyboys'. A few things occured to me. For somethin like this to be sold in public means it is spreading the word of guys just wanting to look like girls and there are many more way more negative associations go with it.

What I was most afraid of is that my girlfriend would remember that scene in the dvd whe I do tell her about my gender dysphoria. Which should be soon.

In the situation you are refering to, what I do is just be totally unfased by it. Then if someone asks my opinion on 'said topic' I just say everyone to their own and really push the notion home that I don't have a predisposed disliking to any human being on this planet. I continue by saying, and I have been in this situation, that what does get to me is when people aren't themselves. I really let people know my views on this.

It's really up to you whether you take offence or not. It's a personal thing. IMO.

Yea, i tend to take offense sometimes, but it's still as thoe when someone uses the term, they are using it in a negative way.

Ex: "Oh that is so gay" or "You look so gay doing that"

It offends me because its pure ignorance and closed minded.

This is sadly becoming very common.  So much so that there is a series of PSA's on it.

"You look so gay doing that"

I would just smile and say: "Thank you."  It usually confused them.
