What does everyone suggest?  I consider myself a masculine female(in spirit, not so much in the physical).  I'd like to begin wearing a fragrance that represents that.  I currently wear Aqua di Gio, which smells so yummy when I wear it that I want to do myself, but I think it's too overtly masculine for what I want to present to everyone else.  I sampled some CK One body mist stuff at Target, and that is not what I'm looking for.  It smelled soapy to me.

I wish I knew of a unisex perfume. Right now I just use Axe body spray and I have a bottle of mens Cool Waters

Wasn't much help..sry lol

Take something manly then something womanly then mix it all together? No...wait...that sounds like a bad idea....
Heh heh I'm not much of a perfume / cologne expert. I wear whatever my woman slaps on me randomly.

hmm... I dunno about any unisex perfumes, but I'd prolly go with something 'fresh' smelling I don't think you can really go wrong with a fresh airy smell!  Also you want to take into consideration that male and female's natural body odors are different, so the same scent will mix differently and smell different depending on the person.

(should have mentioned my suggestion ends here, this is just my personal opinion on scents I personally like, not necessarily unisex ones!)

Two of my favorites (don't know if I'd really call them unisex, I guess it would depend on the person) are vanilla body mist, and men's cool water (both sooo yummy!)

Personal opinion....vanilla = gag! and female

Hm...I should have mentioned that vanilla is out.  I appreciate the suggestion, but vanilla to me is the default fem fragrance.  I'm looking for something less known that would individualize me.

I used to use some high-quality sandalwood essential oil (the kind one would use for making incense or scented candles) as a personal fragrance, until I ran out a while back. I'd just dab a tiny bit on my fingertip and apply it behind my ears, on the insides of wrists, cleavage, etc.

Of course, I don't know if anybody else would consider sandalwood an "androgynous" scent, but I actually liked it better than any of the standard perfumes and colognes that I've tried and felt that it expressed me quite well. I'm sure there are other essential oils I'm sure one could use as fragrance as well.

I go for lot's of fruit, I think a coconut or orange and bergamot is pretty genderless. I made myself feel like a proper fruit salad yesterday after a huge long languid reading bath.

well i think that mixing scents is always good...u could use some quicksilver and island vibe (from Avon) or for a good unisex scent by itself maybe us American Eagle

I'll have to check out American Eagle - looks like they don't offer a unisex scent though, only men's or women's.

The Bvlgari Black came in today.  It is yummy, yummy, YUMMY.  I might  be good with that.  Definitely not too femme, not too masculine, it's strong - as in, not overpowering.  The scent conveys strength.  Very urban and industrial.  The only opinion I've gotten on it so far is from my daughter, but she said it smells good.:)

Okay.  So I couldn't help myself.  I splurged on this:

Anybody have any experience with it?  I'm still open to more recommendations!

I've never personally tried it, but Bvlgari sounds like an interesting fragrance.

And the bottle looks like a speed loader, so I know my guy side definitely approves.  ;D

Ha!  I hadn't made the connection!  I have one of those speed loaders.  It's in my underwear drawer filled with star point .357 magnum rounds.:)  My pistol is in a case next to my bed - with a trigger lock, of course.;)

Oh, wow - Nicky!  Demeter has some unusual stuff!  Glancing at the list, Watermelon Lollipop jumps out at me.  That would be a good one to have for when I'm feeling really girly.:)  I'll have to look closer at that site when I have some more time.  Thanks for the tip!

I'm familiar with CK one, I used to buy it all the time.  AVON has something that smells masculine but could be used for women too (IMO).  Derek Jeter Driven Black.  Avon also has tons of other perfumes and all.  I wish you luck!  Sorry if I couldn't be of much help.

Thanks, Red.  I'm wondering where I could sniff a sampler of the stuff.  Probably have to attend an Avon party.  That would be a treat.:P  Actually, I might be able to get some good makeup tips.:)  Lord knows I could use them!

Bless your heart!  Yup AVON has makeup galore! Great idea to go to the avon meeting, but i'm not sure if you have to sign up first or not.  Email them when you can and ask them. They have TONS of sniff samplers.  You can get a whole little box for $1.00 and it's got a lot of small samples that smell SOOO good.
I've worked there twice as an independent representative.  I recently had quit avon because of no customers in my area.  And for a guy to walk up to a house wanted to sell AVON...?  Especially the older people would slam the door in my face.  Man AVON is hard work, BUT it's awesome.  You are able to buy things for yourself too.  I plan to get back into avon once the doctors get me off this heavy medication (I had a very bad seizure in 2006 and I have episodes of 'psychosis' . . . nothing too major.  But I think Im just plain ol' depressed.
You should try getting into AVON.  Where I'm at, it only costs $10 to sign  up.

I'd be afraid my version of an Avon makeover would make my poor victim look like either an evil clown or a zombie hooker.:'(

You might want to check out Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab; the scents on that site are formulated by a lady named Beth, but many of the scents are... Well, genderless, or mixed-message(I've been collecting some of them over the years, things like melon and tobacco/gin together, scents that are more concept than gender, as well as the typical masculine/feminine swag).

You say vanilla is like the default womens fragrance- what would be the default mens fragrance, and would they smell good together as a perfume? Example: vanilla(stereotypically 'lady'), leather (stereotypically 'manly') together could in fact smell nicely together in a perfume. Anyway, scents like bergamot or other citrusy/lemony/minty are pretty in-between in that they don't scream either 'MAN!' or 'WOMAN!', but still smell fairly pleasant and fresh. Another good unisex one is lavender- the scent of lavender has been used traditionally in men's fougeres, but it is still a pretty flowery/herb smell that is therapeutic.

As for brand name perfume, I think I recall Bvlgari's green tea men's perfume smelling pretty femme for a men's scent, but not quite womanly smelling, either. It's a nice, fresh scent that's relatively neutral.
