Well, after reading so many people's accounts of FFS I was pretty terrified going into it today. It ended up being a complete breeze though. I had my brow lifted / shaved, my nose broken and shaved (it was pretty messed up from being broken when I was 12), and my chin reduced and contoured (all bone work). My surgeon told me I had a perfect canvas for his work, and after said everything went amazingly successful. My biggest fear though was the pain, especially waking up in pain. My pain has yet to be over a two though and 6 short hours after surgery I am already feeling like I can more or less resume things pretty normally, from food to taking care of myself. The only bad part was that I couldn't open my eyes really after surgery without some pain and intensely blurred vision. It made me feel very claustrophobic, especially in the surgery room with people I couldn't see throwing questions at me. That cleared up within a couple hours though and since then everything has been just great. I'm super excited to see the results and I'm so happy I apparently have high pain tolerances.

Here's a pic of me from a few hours ago: http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c37/Znwo/0106001443a.jpg

I'll be sure to add some more as the bandages come off.

I would also very highly recommend Dr. Konior even though I haven't even seen the results yet. Not only was he great to talk to and found myself in total agreement with just about everything he said, but his staff was simply amazing. The anesthesiologist really helped qualm my fears for me and his main manager Tom, who I arranged everything with was simply a sweetheart. He even came to pick me up and drop me off so I wouldn't have to get a taxi. On top of all that he was cheaper than even my subpar local surgeon in Boise, and gave me a 10% student discount on top of it because he knew I couldn't quite afford it. And, they even had some patients switch surgery dates for me so I could get it done before school started next semester. Overall, a great experience so far =)

Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

Congrats! I'm a Konior graduate too. Dr. Konior and his staff are top notch in my book. You will heal well and will be very happy with the results. Remember to sleep. Sleep  is your best friend right now.

I'd like to know too. I've already talked to him via email and loved what he had to say. Now if I can just get the darn office consult setup.

I had a open brow lift/shave. It gave me some hairline advancement. I also had rhinoplasty, a neck lift with neck liposuction and a tracheal shave.

Thanks so much everyone! I'm already feeling close to back to normal just two short days after surgery. I was pretty damn nervous going in today to get my drainage tubes taken out. He didn't even really give me a warning it was coming and BAM...it was out without me even so much as feeling a tiny prick. After that my face felt a lot lighter and I started feeling a lot more like normal. The swelling on my face has already gone down a good deal and I walked about a quarter of a mile to the store today with no problems whatsoever. My girlfriend says she's already noticing some pretty significant changes in my brow and Dr. Konior said my chin looked wonderful as he was changing the gauze. I'm super excited to see it without all the bandages on. I couldn't possibly recommend Dr. Konior and his wonderful staff any higher! I can't wait to put some pics up as soon as these last bandages come off!

Thanks again for all the encouragement everyone!!

Edit: one more sidenote; I did have VFFS pics done by Alexandra and I showed him my nose in particular. He said that was pretty much just what he had in mind and that it was a really nice idea to help guide him towards what I wanted.

Well, the nose splint came off and even though it is still swollen some I think I will be very satisfied. My chin stills seems very large to me but he also said that would be the slowest for all the fluid to get out of and it might take as long as 3 weeks. But, here's some pics I took yesterday at day 7.

Kelli,

Unless you already had FFS, you don't need it. You look great! Raymond Konior is in my PPO and my company plans to keep its HRC CEI 100 next year. So I'm hoping they will cover FFS and BA but fearful they won't. I feel more confident they will cover SRS, but FFS is the more expensive one so if I had to choose I would want that covered plus hair removal.

Linda, too late. I actually used Spiegel four weeks ago since I liked his experience regarding my forehead which was a bit of an issue. Really I didn't change too much. You see that avatar photo is using a little magic to create me. My goal is to remove or reduce that need. It came down to fixing two tells. Hairline and Adams Apple. Very pleased with both. Two aesthetical changes that I wanted. Chin and forehead. The former is still healing the later looks great. With my nose being the last thing since it needed to be fixed internally and while we were at it why not cute it up a bit.

So far so good with the healing and I am looking better but nothing drastic.
If I had a penny for my thoughts, I'd be a millionaire.
