a funny thing i learned when i got my ear pierced a few months ago: don't ever twist the studs, it keeps your ears from healing as fast as they could, and the skin actually won't stick to them anyway. and of course you shouldn't touch them except a couple of times a day when you disinfect the holes
i only twisted mine after a couple of weeks, and they did turn round without any problems. i also changed one of them to an actual earring, as i got to piercings very close to each other. that let more air come to, something which helped the healing process a lot. for any sign of infection i'd use a liniment that's really meant for horses, but works well on humans too, it can cure any (minor) infection in just a couple of days
