Is what i just told my mother.

Do you still go through stages of different fashions to find yourself? Me personally, i find fashion is a big part of my life because it defines who i am on the outside. I watched a thing about Boy George a week back and honestly i wish i could look that good (when he was in his early 20's that is, he's right ugly now :P)

But i wish i could wear those kind of clothes. I guess it only feels odd and confusing because of my transition.

I dont want to be a girl. I just want to dress like one.

Fashion doesn't do anything for me (I think they're gonna revoke my gay card!).

Go with what you like.  You're a guy who likes to dress up.  Express yourself!  Nobody else has to understand.  Be who you are, and have fun!

Your just a FTM who is a crossdresser. Sweet. That is about the oddest collored rainbow.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

No one said anything about me being normal  ::)

It's only recently i've come to discover it's got absolutly nothing to do with my disphoria. Although it doesn't help. If i was born a normal guy then i'd probably have the same tastes and need to express myself.

My mum replied earlier by asking where I was going now, about my wanting to be a boy. My response was exactly; "I was meant to have been born with a willy. And i wasn't." No matter what happens, i am a guy at the end of the day. And now that I'm on testosterone, a lot of things are beginning to make sense about myself. I'm discovering who i am with new brain patterns and I'm seeing myself through clearer glasses. And I cant get enough of it!

Good for you, jonjon.  Just because we know we are male doesn't mean we have to stick to boring, conventional male stereotypes *yawn*

hey.. Have you ever heard of Lola Lypsinka? That is his drag name.. he is an FTM who does drag.

here is his youtube
http://www.youtube.com/user/adriandalton08#p/u/3/b0rqD_yFnBM

he just likes cross dressing and acting female on stage.. but in a drag queen sort of way.

Don't feel bad about liking girly things.. I love skirts, and I always loved dressing up for prom, and I love eyeshadow and stuff.. and I like to wear it.. I just want to be seen as a MALE with girly stuff on.. I don't want it to make me look like a girl.. I just want it to make me look like a pretty boy.

Do you relate?

Yeah I went through loads of fashion changes to try and find myself.  I have loved fashion since I was about 18 and was shocked and horrified to find that my love of it made me attractive to men...as a woman!   :D   So after I gave up the skirts and such and dressed as a regular guy for a while I realised my true calling - vintage or vintage-inspired clothing.  Now I have an obsession with it and no amount of money will ever be enough to satisfy it

First of all, George is gorgeous still, there's just more to love :p.

Second of all, I felt the SAME way completely when I first came out. More power to you, but I found I wasn't too comfortable in most feminine clothes, but I do like a lot of it. I also like make up... That I now abstain from because I'm so paranoid everyone will think I went through some sort of phase, or something. My parents thought I was 'normal again' because I said I wanted kids, or something like that x_o So, I guess it's kind of understandable that I don't really want to be too effeminate. But I shouldn't be making excuses, really :/

Just let me take a moment to say... You are very handsome!  I love your clothes in your icon, as well.  Those are the sorts of clothes I am attracted to; not drag or female clothes, and I'd never be persuaded to wear a skirt, but certainly suits and coats and the like... Men's fashions have always appealed to me, and as far back as I can remember, I always wanted to wear them.  I am going to have one hell of a wardrobe when I get on T... I probably could pull off some of it now, but I am quite small and I still feel that nothing fits "just right".

As far as I am concerned, we should all be self-expressive as we see fit.  That's the beauty of being trans, of being variant in whatever way... That we are not afraid to express ourselves, no matter who those selves may be.  I think it is a strength rather than a weakness.

You better believe the second I can look male and wear girl's clothing, I so will! I still have a skort I bought a few years ago, that I can't seem to get rid of, even though I hate the way I look in it! It's the only skirtish thing I've owned for the past 10 years (aside from my ugly skirts that I have to wear for work) and I will wear it one day and look good in it!

I also have these shoes I couldn't resist... even though I can *barely* walk in them! They're ->-bleeped-<-bulous! Once I learn how to walk in them (which might take longer than it'll take for me to actually look decently male enough to pull it off!) it'll be party time! :P

Thanks!!  I am actually in costume here as the Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who.  I love that outfit as it is exactly like my own sense of style anyway.  I mostly wear late 60s/70s inspired clothing and am a Mod right to the core.  So the Doctor's pinstripe suit, long coat and chucks just drew me like a moth.

I'm only 5 foot 5 and thin but that style suits me fine, it's a very tailored style anyway.  Don't be afraid to express yourself now!

A Doctor Who fan - even better.  :D
It is an awesome costume.  I should have noticed it looked familiar; I just couldn't place it.  (Hey, it's been some time since I watched it...)

I'm about 5'6 and thin, it's just difficult to find good, small clothes around here.  I find that I either get really expensive tailored shirts that don't fit because of my body shape, which isn't even extraordinarily female, or I have to purchase bigger, baggier clothes and I don't like that.

I suppose, because I expect to be on T soon, I'll just wait it out.

It would be interesting to see how different peoples' fashion sense changed after they got on hormones.  Most likely, they started paying more attention to it.

I think it's more you get the confidence to wear the nice looking clothes you've wanted to wear all along.
In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity.
I'm not inclined to resign to maturity.

Yeah, that makes sense.  The way it is with me, personally, is that I've always hated my body so have never paid attention to my appearance.  In fact, I've tried to dismiss it entirely so I didn't have to give it much thought.  I thought that perhaps, when I am more comfortable with my body, I will give it more attention.  But lacking confidence, of course, also goes hand in hand with that.  It's probably the reason I have never paid my appearance any attention.
