I had this done with Dr. Lance Brown in New York a couple years ago.I asked him a few questions about bodily rejection.He said unlike breast implants,the silicone is applied to the face in small amounts.He told me if I want he would apply an anasthetic ,but would prefer   to see the facial reactions.It took 4 appointments, with applications of 20-30 small needles per appointment.I was amazed when he showed me after the 4th appointment my face before.It had a much more relaxed look.I would recommend him, its 350 dollars per appointment.Im not sure if he is still in New York, but would  highly recommend him.

Do NOT have silicone injected into your body anywhere at anytime.  We've known that this is nothing short of a disaster for YEARS.  Google "priscilla presley silicone injections" to see the mess it makes.  Sculptra is a great filler of choice these days.

I havent had any problems with it. My face hasnt had any problems, but my legs had a slight problem with the silicone, but has been fixed.

Some of my fellow transitioners 20 years ago got the silicone injections in the face.  There were some others around who had transitioned a decade or more earlier and had the injections too, and they all said not to do it because it sowly migrates over long periods of time and the doctors can't get it out, but sometimes it starts coming out on its own and then it is an open wound for a long time as it slowly migrates out.

I thought silicone wasn't approved for injection like that in the US.  The transitioners I knew who got the injections went to Mexico, or got them illegally in the back of a van.  If a Dr. is doing it openly, then maybe things have changed, and new techniques have proven more reliable. 

I see that micro injections of silicon oil are medically approved in the US.  Is that what you had?  http://www.adsci.com/filler/silicone-micro-injections

Also, my understanding is that Ms. Presley was duped into getting injections of industrial automobile repair grade silicone, and not surgical grade silicone.

So maybe you won't have any problems.  I think those girls had big pieces of it injected, and who knows, maybe they got the industrial silicone.  Maybe it's true that the injections in smaller amounts or surgical grade have a better chance of staying in place.  Did you have a chance to talk to any of Dr. Brown's patients from years back?

Glenda ,I havent had the oppurtunity to talk to any of his patients.But he has a great rep.I do however get checked every 6 months or so.Nothing appears to have migrated.Im such a scaredy cat though, I always get the lowest recommended dose.Not sure if Ill do more, its been a few years and im at the point where Im completely satisfied with my current self.

Glenda, the link you posted to is something diffrent ,  my procedure does have micro oil in it, but small doses      of silicone as well .Not exactly the same.

According to his web page he is using Microdroplet silicone injections ...  I'm still leaning towards Sulptra but haven't researched silicone any more than finding a lot of horror stories.  I guess it really depends on who is using it.  Any facial filler in the wrong hands just makes a mess.  I'd love to hear more about this and how it compares to Sculptra.
