Over a one-year period, 5 female-to-male transsexual patients underwent neophalloplasty using the sensate free (septocutaneous) fibular flap without the fibula. Average age of the patient was 30 years; average follow-up was 25 months (range 18-30). All underwent total hysterectomy, salpingo-oophorectomies, vaginectomy and urethral prelamination 6 months before flap surgery. A urethral lengthening procedure is performed at this time using a caudally based pedicled flap raised from the anterior vaginal wall.

Analysis of the results showed that all patients sustained good results with no flap loss. Voiding from a standing position was achieved and the neophallus was esthetically acceptable. Sexual intercourse was attainable in all patients and was deemed satisfactory.

Actually Susan posted this picture two months ago in response to one of my threads regarding this topic:

It's true, I posted about it here on this site years ago.....

After it's grown they detach it and move it to the proper location. It's not sexually functional on it's own but with a air bladder, could be pumped up.

LOL   :D...well, most people who get organ transplants want functional  organs....so I am not sure that your idea will work in some cases.. ;) ;D

Well what I had in mind for trading still functions all too well.  Maybe we could rent out a surgeon for the party.  Can you say:  Don't try this at home?    Sorry.  It's late and I'm getting tired and a bit loopy.

Have you ever noticed how this medical reporting is so passive?  They use "was observed", "was achieved"... sheesh. They are booooooring!  REWRITE!!

......

"Analysis of the results showed that all patients sustained good results with no flap loss.

"Analysis"?

What did they do... get out the probe and ruler, jot down some data points and then watch the grass grow?

"patients sustained good results"

Pulease!  It sounds like "an ice cream cone was ingested by a customer and a good time was had by all".

"Voiding from a standing position was achieved"

Now, I see a golden waterfall... or in my case hear one... and I think action.  In fact, if you're not careful, you are going to get wet.  You see, these things fall down... they don't slowly fill up as the tone of this statement may suggest.

"and the neophallus was esthetically acceptable".

My dear, I just wanted to know that you are esthetically acceptable tonight. If we were to ingest an alcoholic beverage we would become inebriated and we could....

"Sexual intercourse was attainable in all patients and was deemed satisfactory."

Indeed, my love, intercourse was achieved and your performance was deemed satisfactory. A cigarrette was lit and inhaled acceptably.

......

With all my love...

The morning of my surgery, when I was signing the consent forms and talking to my surgeon, he also requested signed permission to pass on some of the unwanted bits to people doing research on HIV...

'Of course', I said. Had no plans to make earrings out of them.  ;D

Who knows, you could have started a whole new fashion trend.   :P
