wow, I never even saw this thread before.  I just happen to look at the more recent post and saw the topic.  I was like....noooooo.....

Anyway, I have watched Who since I was a wee one and got back into it late.  I guess it took David Tennant to get me to watch again. Basically because my g/f kept saying I was just like the 10th doctor.  I was like what???  So I started watching and it kinda grew on me again. I am FINALLY starting to like Matt Smith, but I think it is because the writing is MUCH better this year.

Really happy Torchwood is going to be returning next month too!  Will be a great filler until Who returns at the end of the year.

I notice most of the discussion is about the current shows, so don't want to give any Spoilers since I have already seen "A Good Man Goes to War" and know the secret of River Song.  It was a pretty good show and I well... I love River Song and I HATE the "spoiler"  so I want to cry really.  Hope all of you enjoy it.

Oh a kinda same subject.. does anybody ever go to the conventions?

Just watched the last episode of this series too.  Must admit I twigged as soon as Amy said the name of her  baby.  Just have to wait for the next series now dammit! Will just have to make do with 'The L Word' DVD's and Top Gear.

Unlike me and my big mouth. I seemed to have mention all possible spoilers in a previous post & without exactly warning anyone :-/.
I would love to go to a convention myself but i don't know anyone. I thought about getting a Tardius box though

Am I the only one who thought the new Torchwood trailer looked pretty... boring?

Just waiting for the second half. Roll on September ;D

I thought the newest Torchwood trailer was pretty cool.  Got to hear from some of the other characters.  I think the news reporter will be a thorn in Torchwood's side (along with everything else).

I am planning to go to a Who convention again this year.  Seems like a pretty good crowd.  I am not a huge social person at this stage in my transition, but what time I was out and about, I had fun.

Lia and I are huge Doctor Who fans (and Torchwood, too!). We're catching up on season 6, finally watching all the ones we've recorded, and wow... great season so far!! (not really the rest of this thread in case of spoilers haha)

I LOVE Doctor Who! I'm currently watching all the classics (they aren't that hard to find, I can dig up a good link if you want) after I found out the season was split in two (I had known but forgot, so it was a shock when I remembered).

The last episode was !!! no words could describe it. I didn't see who River was at all until she told Amy.

I don't have a favorite doctor. I of course started watching with 9, but I don't like him that much. Tennant was amazing, but it all started to get very serious with him, too sad, but the acting was superb and I loved how quirky he was. I had my doubts about Matt Smith, but his first episode is one of my top favorite episodes. He's much more cheerful and although he doesn't ramble as much, he has very bizarre tastes and I love his whole outfit :) I've already got myself a bow tie and I made my own custom screwdriver from a laser pen a few months back. I also got my mom to knit me a super long scarf (although not the same colors as the  4th Doctor's). My current favorite Doctor is Peter Davision, but this changes as I watch more and more of the classics.

Back to Matt Smith, I liked the first half of this season, but there seems to be something missing. Everything is much more serious again and there are just WAY too many questions about what's happening. I did enjoy the Silence (scariest monsters yet!), and the Tardis Episode, but I have high hopes that when the show returns I'll get all my questions answered in a very satisfactory manner. I love Doctor Who because of the fact that at the end everything ends up making perfect sense, it just astounds me the complex plots the writers come up with. Amazing.

PS: I too thoroughly enjoy the soundtracks. My favorite is "Every Star Every Planet" (I'm pretty sure that's the title.)

The Doctor and the TARDIS says "Hi".  My probably all time favorite Doctor was Tom Baker.

Jelly Babies Anyone?

And I miss K9.  Cute doggy.  ;D

At least July 8th is just around the corner so I can watch Torchwood.  Figure when that is over, the 2nd half of this season will be starting up again....then the Christmas special.  I just hope it will be better then the last one.  I can't believe I wasted my time watching fish swim around.  I just really hated it!

I was reading somewhere that the last show of the first half may have brought Capt. Jack back like the other characters who owed the Dr. a favour, but Torchwood was being filmed.  John Barrowman would like a Doctor Who return, and I would love it if him and Riversong would meet up.  They would be just as comical together as Tennant was (as the Doc.) with Donna!  I would just die!!

Not sure, but seem to remember a kid's movie starring K-9.  Anyone got a clue?

You remember K9 and Company a pilot for a TV series in the early 80's with the late Elisabeth Sladen.  A first attempt at the Sarah Jane adventures.  It was pretty terrible and had something to do with witchcraft.  It seems that in 2012 we are not to get a full series due to a budgetary crisis.  The next series is likely to be split between Autumn 2012 and Spring 2013.  The 50th anniversary is 23 November 2013 so expect a big special.

I enjoyed this Christmas special more than any of the others, it was magical.

I just finished "A Good Man Goes To War".

And while I am shocked, I am not.  So typical Doctor.

Oh my gosh I can't believe you just now finished it! :P

Without giving it away, I'm still unsure how I feel about that episode. Perhaps it was just too much revealed at once?

Not really.  There is the whole thing about their relationship to deal with.

New Season part deux next week  ;D ;D ;D

1963 to 2013 = 50 years (ignoring the 15 year gap since the end of Sylvester McCoy and the one off TV movie).   Tom Baker was my childhood Doctor and it doesn't seem like 30 years since he gave up the job!
