well as a young transguy i was browsing the internet for more information about being transgender and such. But then i came across this and while at first it did offend me, i now find it quite funny to be honest. It seems like they took atleast some time out of their day to research information and even though some of it is insulting, all of the site i basically taking the piss out of everyone and everything  :D

encyclopediadramatica.ch/FTM

thanks for everyones views on it!  :)

Honestly this kind of stuff doesn't really surprise me. This is the internet, it's filled with bigotry from all around the world. And let's admit something, whatever douche had the time to write this up - research terms, and ftm surgeries and pictures, actually knows words like 'twink' which very few heterosexual cisgender people know about, is not someone to be offended by. They are just a bigot without a life, if they had one, I doubt this page would exist at all! Same with all those Christians who don't have anything better to do with their time like 'like helping people as good Christians are supposed to do' and instead make commercials attacking gay marriage.
Don't let this ->-bleeped-<- get to you, bigots are not worth listening to.

Is this website supposed to be like uncyclopedia? Because if it is then I can't say I find any of this surprising, and I'm not really offended either.

Before anyone jumps down my throat, the reason I'm not offended is because this piece was clearly written with the intent to raise shackles and offend, not out of blind ignorance or a sense of superiority. As such, while some of these things are horrible, I just choose to view them the same as any other sexist, racist or religious joke, because that's all they are.

If you look past the horrid punchlines, you'll see that the person writing it does actually know a fair bit about FTM's, which is a much better education than most. I doubt they really feel this way at all in rl.

Edit: And wow, now that I've read more of this, I'm actually starting to wonder if it's on our side. Look past the male chauvinist remarks and the randomly inserted 'LOL!'s and there is a surprising amount of stark information about the ->-bleeped-<- we're forced to go through. If I were a cis person reading this, I think I'd go away with a bit of a chuckle and the thought '->-bleeped-<-, those guys go through a lot, that must suck.' You'll also notice that the article doesn't refer to us as women, but as men.

The site is a joke. Everything on it is written to be the most hateful, vile stuff ever. It's supposed to be funny, but to me it's lame and really stupid, the thing an immature 12-year-old would guffaw at.
...that fey-looking freak kid with too many books and too much bodily fat

ED is not to be taken seriously, it's an offshoot of 4chan and is meant to be as offensive as possible to as many people as possible, and they're intentionally inaccurate with facts.  I thought the article was actually kind of funny, I read that a couple years ago.

I hate sites like that.  If it is supposed to be humor, the humor escapes me.

I left the address of the site, but did remove the active link, you can copy it to your browser if you want (I felt some of the pictures were just too much).
Nameless here for evermore!;  Merely this, and nothing more;
Tis the wind and nothing more!;  Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore!!"

and i dont search for random stuff that disrespects transpeople i came across this by accident.  :)

Oh it's related to 4chan? Everything makes sense then.

I as well thought some of it was funny, lol.  Some of it went to far, imo.  but some of it made me laugh.
I feel like it's okay to make jokes about anything, as long as inside there's this common understanding that it's a joke.  But, there were a few "jokes" on that site where I didn't feel there was that common understanding and instead they honestly believed what they were saying negatively about trans people.  well 4chan is a bunch of immature people.  I try to ignore them.

Well the ones with all the stitches and the penis pictures were kinda gross.  And I think that's all he was referring too.   but the stitches will heal and it will look much better.   But even then I think calling something like a penis gross is really just opinion, as obviously there are people who like penises.  But he could have just been referring to the pictures.

Actually, I can understand a lot where the guys who made that web page are coming from.  When I was a teen and I first found out about "transsexuals" I was grossed out because I saw all these surgery pictures, and surgery of almost any kind is gross (to me).  Even heart transplant surgery is gross because it's bloody and whatnot.   And I remember being a teen and thinking "I don't want to get surgery!  I just want God to magically rewind time and make me be born in the right body."
However, I've since matured and been educated, and seen plenty more pics and it doesn't gross me out anymore, and I want surgery now.

/edit for spelling/

i know this is humor so it doesnt really bother me but i do find it super offensive. what i really hate is that it perpetuates stereotypes and makes kids think its ok to make fun of trans people.

Natkat

I dont find the humour funny,
but if the person is serious them im about to laugh.

they don't just make fun of trans people.  They make fun of EVERYONE.  including themselves.  http://encyclopediadramatica.ch/You
Now that I thought was funny.

Oh and they also make fun of haters.  So that made me smile, lol.

Sorry, but I laughed. Here's why:

We were mentioned as men even if it is FTM, and compared to cisgendered men. Example "Short – Due to women generally being shorter than men FTMs are usually vertically challenged. However, cisgendered men are sometimes short and women are sometimes tall."

Even when making fun of some of their pictures they used the male pronouns. That article could have been written way worse.

If you are able to laugh at other pages on that site or about any type of person then get completely offended when it relates to you then you are a hypocrite. It's either all funny or non of it is funny.

The story is the same, I've just personalized the name.

If you're at all familiar with Encyclopedia Dramatica, you won't take that article personally or seriously. It's written by and for 30 year old basement dwellers (internet nerds) who use 4Chan and ->-bleeped-<- like that.

I agree with anibioman though; that is true. It gives the message that it's OK and funny to make fun of trans people, when in fact it's not funny at all. It is a severe birth defect.

Actually that didn't bother me at all lol..

Same thing if I make fun of gingers lol jk

Why do most of the good lulz come from 4chan?  It's not fair.

Also, Encyclopedia Dramatica is pure win.  I thought the article was funny.  Now I need more satire.
