Hi I think moving would be A preferable solution for you when you compare the risks of the procedures...

I am 6 foot tall and while some times I feel uncomfortable with my height lots of my girlfriends are well envious of it OK I would probably be happier at 5'10 especially with the heels factor.

I have also read A couple of accounts of people shrinking A little once they have been on HRT at A consistent level and amount of time some times by as  much as two inches which doesn't sound much but I think it has more to do with where you lose the height from. I seem to remember people saying that it's mostly lost from the torso with the shrinking of cartilage.

Please please bring this up with Your therapist if you have on.

No there is no surgery even if it were possible no ethical surgeion would do it as it would probably cripple or paralyse you.

My first post here :-)

@Mimpi: I'm Dutch, actually half Indonesian/half Dutch and I'm 5"9.

Yes, true, I see lots and lots of tall girls and women here, some even taller than me in high heels!

I think it depends on the type of woman why she's considered tall; I see very tall, very thin girls but I see very tall (very) big girls too.
The first is usually considered elegant and feminine, if straight up walking; the latter 'une femme cathedrale', a woman as big as a cathedral, as the french say.

But still......I'm also generally considered tall when in flat shoes.

I think everyone has fairly well covered this but I appear to be the only one reading this who is over 6 foot. I'm 6 2 and let me tell you anywhere outside of Scandinavia that is tall, regardless of gender. Don't worry about height scaring men away, if theyre that hung up on you being taller than them how do you think they would react to you being transgender?

Also spinal surgery is not for cosmetic purposes, that stuff is very dangerous and as people have said reducing height by hacking away bones puts you all out of proportion.

I'm 5'6 and I'm way to tall for a girl where I live =/, I've seen men shorter than I'm so it will be difficult for me to get a boyfriend =( because you know guys like shorter girls.
Yeah... I'm 5'7" and even with 2 inch heel boots I still manage to be a shorty. Running into men smaller than me is a rarity.

I think you should move out of the Shire if it's bothering you... XD

Is it just me or does this thread scream troll?

Katylilgirl has made 3 threads talking about height reduction, making your feet smaller by foot binding, and surgically reducing the size of your hands. They complain about being 5' 6" and having size 9 shoes. Either this person is a Kebler elf, or they are here to cause trouble.

Hi, that is exceptionally tall by Indonesian standards :) My second wife was 5'3" and known as the tall girl back in Java. However I do know a girl of Indonesian parentage from Singapore who is a couple of inches taller than me and I'm 5'10".

Height isn't a big deal, the only time it freaks me out is when you see one of those male basketball players in real life. Now that is truly something!

When i first read your thread I thought you were probably like 6'11 or something.

You're 5'6. Your fine. Even in chinese height standards you are fine.

ive thought of that many times...i thought i was the only one.

The fact that her name is "katyLILgirl" and she wants to have an operation because she feels she is too big makes utterly no sense.

I think what she is doing is using these drastic measures by having people give her positive reinforcements and affirmations because she feels better if someone says "oh, honey you aren't tall...you are perfect!" or "oh honey your feet are perfect" and so forth and so on.

height really isn't a huge deal in my personal opinion(generally) tall girls are sexy short girls are cute. Though it also depends on proportion unfortunately I have short legs and a tall middle

Yes, proportion is something to mention. Even short TS's usually have a bigger head, wider shoulders etc than most GG's.

@Mimpi: my dutch father is very tall my indonesian mother shortish. I wound up in between ;-)

The funniest thing is........I was considered a 'shorty' when living as a (very feminine) male (in Holland that is) and considered tall when I started living as a woman.

I'm interested in this surgery. Sybil said that she had it done but I couldn't contact her. I'd like to ask, Is it possible to shorten the length of the torso (thus decreasing overall height) without any severe complications and consequences? I´ve read that it´s possible to remove a part of the spine but i don´t know for sure so that´s why i´m asking. And i´m specifically asking about torso shortening NOT leg shortening. I know that leg shortening is relatively easy but i want to have a shorter torso NOT shorter legs. I would like to shorten my legs since it's easier but unfortunately I don't have long legs(5'9 height 32" inseam)

You asked this elsewhere and the answer there was no. It still is no. Sorry.

God. Do ya'll know what shortening your legs would be like. It's not like going in and cutting the bones and then healing right up. Oh you would have pins sticking out of your legs which would cause scars on otherwise beautiful flawless legs. then you would have physical therapy to learn how to walk again. Not really a good thing. Like someone else said, you would never be a supermodel at 5'6". I don't know where you live but I am 5'9" and yeah I am taller than a lot of women but also shorter than a lot too and even in height to more than enough without them wearing heels. Women come in different heights and weights and most guys that aren't too conceited don't mind dating taller women. The ones that would, hell it would probably take them longer to do their hair than it does to do yours. And "That Don't Impress Me Much."

No ethical surgeon is going to shorten your torso, there's no safe way to do it.
