This past evening, I steamed an artichoke as an appetizer, and served it with a quick lime aioli sauce for dipping

I will be making chicken & vegetable later today.

SNIP

Sounds good, but will the leek, scallion, and onion tend to overpower the other vegetables?

Of course it varies day to day, but I tend to start my day with a Bacon Roll then later on at dinner time, It will be tagliatelle, or Chili with potato wedges. Some times if we make it, we have a home made stew. I tend to choose the low fat options in these meals to keep down the calories and fat content on them. Supper time can range from anything to a couple of biscuits and a coffee, to maybe just a simple low calorie soup drink.

I love Kashi. Almost everything they make is really good. The Heart to Heart cheerios analogue featured prominently in my daughter's young childhood. :) I don't buy their cereal now unless it's on sale, though. I don't remember trying cornflakes growing up, but I've discovered them recently and omg they're so cheap. I cross my fingers and hope the fortified soymilk makes up for the nutritional faults of the cereal I eat.

I'm eating a burrito right now. The beans and green onions both needed eaten. Lots of Tapatio hot sauce.

Lolwow. I ate a ton of catfish growing up and I don't think I ever saw them in nugget form. That's lovely.

Really?  That's the only way I eat them.  It's ironic because my father asked me do I like catfish fillets and I told him no I only like them in nugget form and he asked me why because they are pretty much the same thing but I told him I just like nuggets.  Nuggets look cool.

Chobani yogurt - pineapple.

Lord of the Dance

The remnants scraped from the deepest depths of my fridge. Ended up as some cold rice salad-y thing with yellow/green peppers, mushrooms, kidney beans, olives and vegetarian ham-style slices with a good dollop of red pesto. Weird, but very good!

Wow! Nothing, I just burned my chicken and rice beyond recognition! For the CSI: Kitchen Crime fans, I didn't turn it down to simmer after it came to a boil. Hugs, Devlyn

I've done that!  The last time with the teakettle with a wimpy sounding whistle.  I am hard of hearing and I didn't hear it go off.  I smelled the plastic handle parts burning and found it nearly welded to the coils.  I turned off the stove, waited a bit and put in cool water in it.  It popped off of the coils and spread the enamel flakes all over the stove.  My new one is a stainless steel model found at a BB&B with a real whistle on it.
Oh yeah, I had a steak tonight with a baked potato and broccoli.  I found the steak in a family pack with the price reduced more than half.  I froze the rest of them for later.

omg this made me laugh.

Beverly is brown sauce just gravy? Like, cooked meat juice with white flour?

I'm eating cabbage soup. Omnomnom. I love cabbage. I only like it in soup or stirfry or kimchee though. No slaw or jello.
