Just need to motivate myself enough

I think even though my hips are a problem my waist is the thing who make it looks huge.
I am pretty skinny but if I just could gain mucle/far around that place it would make my hips seams like a non issue.

For me my greatest hip inspiration was my brother, I notice last summer that he actually got very wide hips,
if its because he turned mor far or if he always got those, I dont know..

I was not trying to say that we shouldn't work out because it's useless.  I think everyone who is able to work out should, not just for the hips issue but for many positive things that working out does.  You are all right, working out will help.  But I'm simply saying it will only go so far.  If you had a 25 inch waist with 37 inch hips with low body fat before T (these were my measurements), there is no possible way you will be able to look like a typical bio-guy from working out.  My point was that we should accept those things we cannot change and focus on goals that are obtainable.  Saying things like, anyone can change the way their hips look if they stop being lazy is incorrect.  If someone said that to me I would laugh in their face, because I work hard.

For clarification, this isn't directed at you Joey, just other comments I have seen in the thread.

I think nobody *notices* the bioguys with hips, because there's nothing drawing your attention to them, unlike the plumber's crack or underwear showing you notice on the guys that don't have any when there's not much to hold them up.

If you just stop and look at *every* guy that walks away from you (I did a couple times when I was bored at work), you'll notice a lot more hips than you'd expect...at least, I'm assuming we don't have *that* high a stealth trans population around here...

That's kinda what I'm getting at. Everyone is really wrapped up in the "I can't pass" thing or scrutinizing a part of their own bodies to really take note that in some cases, they're really not that far off from "bio males" (I hate that bio term by the way ... what else would they be "synthesized" males?? lol)

Same, that's why I prefer the term cis.  I cringe every time I see a trans guy saying bio in reference to a cis man.

I can't speak for anyone else, but when I say "I can't pass" it's not because I have hips specifically. It's because I have never been able to pass as male. I am always assumed to be female even on days when I think I look androgynous at least.

Ah yes! Some reason I keep forgetting that one ... probably because I didn't know what cis was short for originally.

I have discomfort with my hips. T got rid of my tushy, and moved my chub to my gut. My pant size has gone down but my chest measurement is still smaller than my hip measurement (when bound). Have done the working out thing, it's not for me. I'm growing to love my chubby body despite all the hate I get for it. My waist is getting larger which is really what goes on with us. With cis guys it's mostly that they have muscular thighs in those pics.

For reference:
When I was doing the gym thing and actually vaguely fit  - my waist line was 29", hip was 34".  Buying trousers and jeans were a pain - I compromised and wore a 32" trouser which was super loose around the waist.  No one ever called me on having a weird shape or anything so my message to the FTMs is to not worry so much about it.  Just work on bulking up the upper body a bit and it'll all balance out nicely.

Personally I had/have a 27" waist and 35" hips. and I got picked on for my shape as a kid/young teen. So I stopped going swimming. 

But that's kids... it's true that adults probably don't really care. 

If it helps though, yep occasionally male-bodied people are born with a waist and hips. OP pic is not the best example of it though IMO is all.

I have often wondered what the big fascination with hips is?  Guys I know are not looking at that area, especially if they at first glance see you as a man.   I have wide hips and a big butt, nobody has ever commented or cared to be honest.  When I was having to live as a female, yeah... it was mentioned many times, but now... nobody cares.    I would think just based on my experience if your upper body presents well, then rest is good to go.  Maybe if you insist on wearing skinny jeans...maybe baggy?  But well fitting clothes?  I just don't see it.

If there is something I am missing, can somebody please explain because every time I see these post I am clueless as to what the deal is.

When I was in high school there was this one guy who always used to joke about his "child-bearing hips".  No one gave him a hard time for it because he could laugh about it and accepted it as his body.  They are pretty common in guys.  I'm pretty lucky in that I've always had big shoulders that balance my big hips and make them barely noticable in most clothes.

For me I think my side view is worse.  I think i look like a jelly bean from the side...  I'm starting T sometime in the next month or two and I'm really hoping it does something about my giant butt.

Okay, I can't let you guys suffer. And I can't hold back. I mean no offense and I say this jokingly.

You sound like a group of women in a clothing store asking each other, "Does this make my butt look big?"


Honestly, you guys will be fine. Cisguy's tend to avoid looking down in that area anyway because they worry about other things like "don't look at his junk, he might think I'm gay," etc.
I mean girls have more of a curvature to their spine too, but not a single one of you has brought that up. looking at the current fashion trends for males, I very much doubt your hips will be seen anyway. I've got more of a chance of being stared at for my body parts because I have breasts than you guys. Unless you are wearing skin tight pants and walk like a girl ( I mean like seriously girly), I very much doubt it's your hips that will get you clocked.

This post is still going lol. The whole reason I created it was because I think you guys spend too much time fretting about body shape. Just relax.
