Err but why do you have to be alone? Even without an so, you have family, and even friends to hang out with.

I mean, honestly I don't think it's possible to be a modern human and have zero friends ???

I had dinner with my kids; their mother couldn't make it though (she was working).

And, I spent a good portion of the afternoon with my daughter, too.

Well, any day that I don't have to show up at the office and sit at my desk for 8 hours staring out the window is a good day.

My partner worked this morning, so I enjoyed a peaceful morning alone.  I blasted punk rock music all over the house all day.  I cleaned my pool table (it's real purdy!) and polished the pool balls.  I gave myself a manicure and pedicure (my nails look awesome, all hot pink and shiny, same color as my pool cue.)  My spouse came home and made me an amazing dinner... and now we're off to spend the rest of the evening at the pool table preparing ourselves for tomorrow night's pool match (we're playing against some really, REALLY good players!)  All in all a delightful day.  I'm half tempted to call my boss and ask him if I can take one more day off.... thank you sir, may I have another!

May we all have a peaceful night tonight and get a good night's rest.  Tomorrow is a brand new day.

Hugs!
Miharu

I'm a modern human and I have zero real-life friends. This doesn't include Internet friends (I have one of these) and family.

I like to think I'm a modern human, but I also have used to have zero friends...for close to 20 years.

Thanks to therapy, I now know why...so now I have 3 friends, once I moved out of my ex's apartment. As a woman, people seem to flock to me more than as a guy...(of course, "anything" is more than "nothing.")

Internet friends are ok (better than nothing) but nothing replaces a good face-to-face meeting and sharing of the minds. Well, maybe a puppy, but that's another topic.

I'm alone, nothing new about that

The holidays are always great reminders of how alone I am  :P
The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

I've been kinda thinking about volunteering somewhere...food banks, etc. Anything to get out of the house, change up my social circle (ok, it's not a circle...it's the definition of a "point.")

Meet new people, feed them, send them on their way...I don't know, it's just a thought I've been thunking for a little bit.

My Facebook status from earlier:

"I spent the day being very independent. I stayed home and cooked for myself. I did my yoga. I even relieved some sexual tension without help from anyone. I'm very proud of myself."

It is entirely possible to be surrounded by people, and still be alone.

It has been that way for me for about 40 years.  That is why I treasure this community.

I can hear the fireworks going off in the distance.  But I would rather be here than watching among strangers.

Spent the evening at my sisters with her and her husband, my brother and his wife, all 3 of my nieces, one fiance, and a young male niece-friend from Texas. Had a great time eating, conversing, hugging, drinking, and playing bocce (lawn bowling), then visiting my niece's house and playing with a kitten. First time since full time with all of these folks except my sister, and it was best time I've ever had with them.  ;D I used to always be on edge in male mode.

Real blessing that my sister raised her kids around a MTF friend and a FTM friend, and that one of her daughters is close friends with an androgyne, and that one of my nephews is happy and Gay. They all "get it" without any effort on my part.

One of my other nieces gave me a hug and said "I was so happy for you when I heard about your transition. It just makes sense. This feels so right - you are finally who you always should have been."

4th of July came and went, no special day outside the US.

No different to Mother's and Father's Day really, just not in a teary mood this time, as being busy all day with emails.

Am organising flights to PIH for FFS and STILL busy with it the day after July 4th.

Also all on my own, and alone.

They tried that already.  1812-1814.  Didn't work.

Being safely on the other side of the Pacific I will suggest that it was a really bad idea, that has cursed you all with a weird mutation of cricket, driving on the wrong side of the road, and bad beer! ;D

Seriously though, have a great day all of you.

I worked, it was busy, 284 people on my shift. Someone did bring me a plate from a local church cookout and then some homemade ice cream later on.

For those who spent the Fourth alone...

You were alone only in the physical sense because I thought of each of you over the holiday. I was there with you in spirit. I felt sorta of emotionally alone, but only for a little while because I was lucky enough to run into some nice company in the presence of others in the neighborhood, some of whom I had the privilege to connect with. It was good to have some fun with neighbors whom I never get to see.

There's more to me than what I thought

Strawberry?
Its a sherbet and I had to put in the big freezer, but I remembered to bring it home and I haven't had it yet. I will after I cool off and take a long shower since I just mowed and weedeated the yard.  Its hot!  Like a gazillion degrees heat index today. Even wind blowing off the water is hot.

And really working holidays isn't so bad, heck I volunteered to work two four hour shifts last Christmas while we were on a reduced holiday schedule.
