this one is with nicely done hair ready to go out

I think you look very pretty in this first picture and the other two are definitely andro leaning feminine. I can't imagine you needing anything more than a little patience to be consistently gendered female.
Cheers!

I feel that you would be passable - but I know you had trouble last time you went out andro/gender neutral. If you want to pass as female though try using some make up, you look a bit tired and there is some beard shadow which make up should deal with and make a huge difference; your hair is nice but could do with some styling perhaps; your eyebrows could possibly do with some shaping but otherwise you look fine. To be honest, I see a very pretty girl who has some slightly boyish features. The first picture is a bit blurred but, as a result, does for you what some judiciously applied make up could do, cover the beard shadow etc. :)

I think Ms Grace is spot on here, mostly little things along with a dose of confidence (I know, this is the hardest part) and you will be doing just fine.
Cheers!

Hey LtL... Brows + clothes will getcha a super long way... =o) I truly think you are almost there, you just have to give yourself a more decidedly female appearance. Maybe some cute accessories. Even just a little eyeliner or mascara might make you mostly passable. Get it gurl!! :D

I feel like posting here too , mainly because Im in a really really wierd situation right now...
So when I go out somepeople gender me male some female , even if they hear my rather masculine voice...
When I look in the mirror I sometimes see a girl and sometimes a guy,,,you can imagine the dysphoria I get when I see a guy and the euphoria when I see a girl ...
Please give me honest opinions I want to know the truth...
Im not even trying to present female but I want to know wth does my appearance resemble...
these pics are make up free...unlike most pics that I have posted here,,,I consider this to be my androgynous mode
though I believe I look more masculine in pics than I normally do...

this one just a casual

I really dont know how I look please help me understand

Hey falseprincess, nice to see you!  For 4 months you look awesome!!  You're at a level that most MTF get to waaaay later on HRT.  Im curious, have you gone out full girl mode or are you always andro?

Im sorta in the same boat as you right now at 4 months although I think you're doing waaay better than I am.  You just need to get ready to male fail because that's coming soon.

Warning: Hot Mess Alert!!!

Pfft, if you're walking around with no make up looking that good, then you're going to do just fine.  I mean you look pretty fem to me.  Just my 2 cents. ^.^

Yeah, I didn't shave this morning until after the photos were taken.  And usually I use a flat iron after showering, though not in this pick.  Like I said, hot mess, lol.

I started Estrogen in June and Spiro in July.  However, the doses were on the lower side, and I didn't get my current dose (that actually works) until Ocotober.

I would be fine with being andro if it hasn't been so long that I started on hrt.  I feel like this is my plateu and that I'll never leave the andro mode.  My sister was warning me of this today, so I'm just seeing what others think.  I just want to be able to leave this place and be 100 percent female looking without even needing effort, ya know?  But I don't think that's to happen.

Thanks for the top 15 percent comment.  I don't agree with that assesment, but it's nice of you to say.

Holy smokes, LtL, you've only been on full-dose HRT for 6 months and you're already worrying that you've plateaued and that you're not going to get any further feminization? You've got to quit worrying, girl! You're still in the infancy stages of transition! At 6 months, you're only about 30% done with all the changes that you'll get. Heck, the most significant facial changes for just about everyone really don't happen until the second year. You want to know what I looked like at 6 months? https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/t1.0-9/933970_653580478141_527629252_n.jpg Yeah... compare that to the recent photos that I've been taking, and you'll see that you basically have absolutely nothing to worry about.

I WISH I had facial features as good as yours. You have a very soft round face, almost no brow bossing, and your eyes sparkle even in "hot mess" mode. Yes, it might take a while for HRT to soften everything up completely, and especially for the rest of your body's muscle to atrophy. But you are definitely going to get there with a face that looks like that. If I can pass close to 100% with the sheer amount of brow bossing that I have, plus my prominent jaw and chin, plus my much-more-masculine nose, plus with hair that is like half as pretty as yours, plus as a freaking 6'2" person with wide shoulders and a large ribcage, you seriously have nothing to worry about. Just give it time.

The only thing I'm worried about with you is that you're not going to have the courage to try the feminine things that are necessary to truly let you assimilate. At some point, even if you've basically arrived on the other shore appearance-wise, you're going to have to go out and explore... go out and learn, go out and immerse yourself in the culture. Otherwise you're always going to feel like a tourist in a foreign land rather than one of the locals.

Thank you everyone!  Yeah, I was a total mess in these photos, but I'm glad people think I'm even okay then.  I had literally gotten off the phone with my sister and started to panic about my appearance.  She kind of said that she doesn't think I'll pass, but she was totally supportive and helpful.  Still that one comment lingered with me.

Thanks!  I was a big mess that morning when I took the photo.  Usually, I style my hair for a long time before leaving the house, and I still need to shave even though I'm doing laser.  Neither of these things were done.  As for the brows, these seem the best I can get them.  Before I go full time, I will get them done.  And of course makeup will help. I wish I could get rid of these racoon eyes without it.

Quote from: Violet Bloom on April 25, 2014, 11:03:03 PM
LTL, we need to start a "raccoon-eyes" thread because I have that problem too.  Maybe we can get more good advice that way.  My mom gave me sample packets of "NeoStrata SecureWhite Anti Dark Circle Complex" but it doesn't seem to have helped at all.  She actually asked me today if the darkness had gotten worse! :'(  (I'm hoping it's just fatigue-related due to the hectic schedule I'm managing fitting in everything I'm doing for transition around my full-time work schedule.)

I've done everything that I can. I think it's probably the result of life style choices that need big changing.  If you abuse your body, it will cry out in some way.

Yeah, I have a lot more feminine clothes, but I was laying around in this.  I just feel fat in my girl clothes and am a bit embarrassed about posting right now.  Thanks for the makeup suggestion.  I love eye makeup especially as it always makes me look better.  Well that and concealer.

I've never seen the show.  To be honest, I don't watch TV, though I've been a little better since I got netflix as a gift.  Still haven't gotten to Game of Thrones yet.

Aww, I really appreciate it.  I've been feeling really bad about myself as a person and my appearance.  You, and everyone else here, really helped cheer me up.  Thank you for that.  You all helped me more than you know.  I'll make it someday and have the life I want.  Just got to work a little more and give it some time.  Thanks everyone for putting things into a realistic perspective.  :)

LearningToLive - Hi, I hit this thread by accident but since I'm here I'll butt in. I think you pass and are cute. You have a great face and eyes. As far as the raccoon eyes go, do you have allergies. I've been told by doctors that's a cause.

Aww, thank you!  I really needed to hear that right now.   I'm a bit of a mess at the moment, so it makes me feel nice.

I don't know why I get that.  It's really bad though.  I don't think it's allergies, though it may be just a result of poor lifestyle choices and sleep deprivation.

ltl, the more I see your photo's the more I think your fem. The line is so blurred that a simple tweek in lighting is probably all that would matter.

So many CIS gals look drab without makeup. What makes you different? (see where I'm going here?)

Mila Kunis for example

I guess I just don't like that I need make up in order to pass.  Okay, all girls need it to look pretty, but to pass?  That's generally not true.  Mila never looks like a boy.  I guess that's my issue.  I love makeup and it makes me feel better, but I don't like needing it just to be me.  Like it should be an accessory and not part of a costume, ya know?
  •

Evelyn K

Give HRT some time. But I think for 95% of us in trans we need makeup to pass.

Unfortunately.

Like I said, you're in the top 15% in this place. And the top 3% WITHOUT MAKEUP!

Unofficial assessment mind you. :D
