Anna, your beautiful photos in this thread were actually among the first I stumbled upon when I began visiting Susan's, prior to making an account, and I was both impressed and inspired--impressions confirmed by so many of the other lovely ladies on here.

Your foundation, from what I can tell in these last photos, looks really good--I'm not seeing anything cakey. And the facial hair is hidden pretty well. Really, really pretty. My only minor observation is that my attention went quickly to under your eyes, which look a bit tired, but this is minor.

She's CIS. That was back when I didn't know what trans was or that was me.

I'm glad I could inspire you, though I can't imagine how I do.. but then that's the curse right? We don't see what other people see.

Also, I didn't say this before but I wish you so much luck with your family. I was only able to tell two of my brothers and I come from a family of seven children. It can be really hard dealing with the risk of rejection. Take care of yourself first. You aren't obligated to tell anyone you feel will not take it well.

Okay! So here is v.2.0 With Makeup! Unfortunately I coulnt change today as I was unable to find somewhere to change xD But I found a bathroom for tomorrow! In the meantime! Here are some pics with makeup! Please let me know if there's an improvement ( I also trimmed my eyebrows a bit).

Thanks! I personally still see a bit of the shadow....but I'm hoping i'm being scrutinous, and if so, should I be using a lighter or darker foundation to help hide it?

I am using a much less err.. aggressive makeup regime today to try it out. Also trying out a headband with the wig to see if I can't get it to look a bit more natural. How do you think I'm doing? Do I need to go back to the old foundation? I really like the new one better.

Also obviously having a bit of trouble with my facial hair, I need electro stat!
Have not started HRT, still need to find a psych and get a referral 🙁 .


Also, I would kill for some new clothes. Fingers crossed on the new job from my client I'm waiting to hear back on.

Way way way waaaaayy better Anna! I like this look so much better because it looks more natural. I think the other foundation was too light. Girl when you start hrt and have been on it for 6 months or so you'll be drop dead gorgeous! I like the headband too. It helps the wig to look more like your own hair just bleached. JMO but if I were you I'd look into a better wig that comes close to matching your natural hair color. But yea I like this look much much better!

@Gabrielle_22: You look very femme for no hrt yet. From what I can see I'd gender you female.

Thank you, Ali. You're kind. I was one of those people whose gender was always a source of confusion as a child and teen, though my jaw has become more masculine, I think, as I got older. I feel unable to wear my hair back in "girl mode" because I think I look so obviously male from the sides. When my hair is down, I feel my features look softer, but with it back...I dunno. And I have terrible posture, so I think I give myself away all the time because I push my chest out or do something silly. I am my biggest critic.

Hermosa, you look really cute with that haircut! And, as another poster said, your eyes are super pretty.  🙂 Your features are a bit andro but definitely lean more towards female, to me.

Ally thanks so much! Yes, I think this new foundation is a world better than the last. A lot more of my skin shows through it, but that makes it look a lot more natural, and less like I have a face made of plastic. I hope you are right. Still anxious to be starting HRT. I have been dying for a new wig! The headband makes this one slightly more tolerable but if I can get through this next side gig I am working I will be buying a wig hands down. The rest of the money I will be saving for meds and such, assuming I can keep myself from spending it all on clothes. Looking back at my pics after a few hours I think I look a lot more at home in my skin as a woman vs the last ones. I feel that way too. Thanks for the notes again Ally.  😀

Maybe at some point I'll hook up the studio camera and get something in a decent photo instead of just bad camera phone selfies. After a few months of HRT I definitely will. If I end up looking half as fem as you I'll be very happy with my results.

I think you look really femme in both the jeans/flats and skirt/flats combo. I think the skirt/flats/blazer combo looks great on you, and I prefer it with the blazer rather than without, but you seem able to pull off all the looks in these pictures. I also like the ring you have on.

Don't worry Anna, we are all our own worse critics. Some good news on your posture. I have spinal stenosis plus much skeletal damage from an accident I suffered in 1991. I had awful stooped over posture before hrt. But lo and behold, my hrt has caused pelvic tilt and my lower back to arch inward effectively straightening my posture. I now again after many years walk with my head held high with relatively straight posture compared to what it used to be. So there may be some hope for yours too. An added benefit; walking with a straight posture augments my booby's too.

Yes, These are definitely better and I like the skirt better. It makes you look more feminine. You have great hair!, or is that a wig? In either case you look better in the skirt IMHO.
