I had electrolysis today, and tried something a little different. I've had red patches and little infected spots, electrolysis zits, after previous recent sessions. This time, before I left home I wiped down my skin with chlorhexidine gluconate 4% solution, a common presurgery skin cleaner, then put on my lidocaine gel (greencaine 4%) and topped with the usual plastic wrap to avoid evaporation.
Jodie wipes this off before starting, of course, but leaves it "in the pores" for my session. This helps.
Afterward I cleaned up, shaving with an electric razor instead of my usual blade. Not as close but it doesn't nick the hundreds of little raised spots. Then I tried witch hazel as an astringent, and an aloe vera gel on the irritated skin.
I still look bee-stung, but nowhere near as red as after previous sessions. That makes me happy.
Then, I went for my walk, about three miles in our downtown area. Without makeup, for once following instructions to see if that helps. I only attracted unusual looks twice that I noticed, both from older men who were checking me out until they got to the face.

Yeah, me sans makeup is not particularly passable yet. [emoji23] Maybe another year and a couple surgeries will help.
Still, my mannerisms, movement, and dress are getting better. That also makes me happy.
(Girl, when will you learn to write SHORT posts? Terseness is not a skill I have.)
