It's futile to speculate about hate and insanity.
The statement of "he shouldn't have had access to such weapons" is moot.
The murderer was a "security specialist" with several weapons licenses. He used his father's activism and religion as an excuse/foundation for his attitudes. He was a bigot and domestic abuser. If he didn't have support from the teachings of his faith and almost universal dislike of LGBT people. Worse yet, he was born and raised in the US. It may be time to denounce all fundamentalist religion and activist politics by people that do not subscribe to the principles of the US constitution.
Outlawing drugs has not prevented the epidemic of heroin overdose or the rise of marijuana as a low-risk intoxicant.
Gun control does not do away with the technology and know-how to produce weapons of destruction.
The deep seeded division of humans by what they have in their pants and how they use it is the root of the greatest hate and violence.
I'm bloody tired of the categorization of humans by a single chromosome pairing and configuration of genitalia.

Bouncer, dancer, accountant among Orlando shooting victims

http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/13/us/orlando-victims-profiles/index.html

CNN/By Faith Karimi and Catherine E. Shoichet, CNN
Updated 6:00 PM ET, Mon June 13, 2016

"CNN)A barista, a bouncer and an accountant.

While different in so many ways, they have one thing in common: They lost their lives in the deadliest mass shooting in the United States.
Authorities have released the names of 48 of the 49 people who were killed in a massacre early Sunday at a club in Orlando."

Take a cw class and start packing and you will no longer be afraid of lunatics.

In Texas, we're not allowed to carry in a bar unless they've changed the rules while this non-drinker wasn't looking.

I carry quite regularly, but the argument against guns in bars is not exactly the most farfetched.
When in doubt, ignore the moral judgments of anybody who engages in cannibalism.

It should also be of note that this was Latin Night, and involved several trans people being there earlier that night including drag performers.

AND it was NOT the deadliest mass shooting ever in the US- several events throughout the black/civil rights movement had higher unarmed body counts, but multiple shooters. This is the worst *Single-Shooter* massacre in recent U.S. history.

BTW, the shooter's current wife may be indicted as an accomplice, having known and helped in the reconnaissance leading up to this incident, but is trying to talk her way out of it.

Who saw this coming?

Apparently, he was gay... closeted gay.

I feel very bad for this person. He too is a victim of this or his intolerant ideology, by abusing faith and turning it into an excuse to get rid of himself and taking other with him out of jealousy. When I see his picture, I see a boy. A boy that has been hurt a lot. But he made a mistake, he took innocent lives with him. And I cannot forgive that. No matter the reason, if he's capable of planning something like this, he's conscious of the act and choose to act accordingly.

Pink News/Joe Williams  14th June 2016, 11:52 AM

"The singer made a surprise appearance at the Los Angeles vigil for the victims of the tragic Orlando nightclub shooting.
Lady Gaga made an unexpected appearance and shared emotional words with a crowd of thousands at last night's LA vigil for the victims of the Orlando shooting.
"As we have now witnessed the largest mass shooting in American history, I can't help but feel that this level of hatred, like all prejudicial crimes, this is an attack on humanity itself," said Gaga"

From the article:
"The shooter's father, Seddique Mateen, made his beliefs on gay people very clear in a video he posted to Facebook on Monday saying 'homosexuals will be punished by God.'"

Sounds like the father was a real piece of work.  I was a little surprised how fast his two men kissing story hit the press.  Now we can probably guess why.  The father was probably very abusive to his son because he was gay.  He probably was trying to deflect his partial responsibility in this tragedy.

if anything, and this is VERY preliminary, I would not be surprised if he is investigated heavily if not indicted too as an accomplice for the negative re enforcement likely given out about his son's questioning status that could have been a contributing factor to the shooter snapping. he said that his son got very upset over seeing two men kissing in Miami several months ago... perhaps the rest of the truth behind that statement is that he was upset not because of the observation, but at his father for not being any bit tolerant about it.

We can discern a growing amount of misery just at looking at the public photos in chronological format. the selfie pic with the beanie cap is actually pretty old. the newer pics show a much more miserable mood, which is exactly how the radical extremists take hold of so many people that are lost. the multiple calls to 911 are very abnormal behavior for any pure intent to massacre people. Perhaps it wasn't so much a pledge of allegiance to the is as much as it was a final plea for help from his subconscious to stop him before it was too late... ya know, that final scream while going over the edge of the cliff cause you know you're going to die.

This is a very, VERY complicated case and it's way too soon to jump to any firm conclusions.

Something is not ok if you're asking for suicide-by-someone else... I care. I've been there, tried that, and survived. The mods should have already provided you those links... It's not the first time I've helped an Angie on here that's felt the same way... AngieISNOTalone

So far, it seems to me that the perpetrator is a victim himself. He seems to have become a real monster that has been created by religious extremism, bigots, conservatives, dogmatists and all other hatred that is so common against LGBT's. They say that thoughts become reality, I think that is true. All the hate in the world has to go somewhere, it needs an outlet, like a lightning bolt that releases it's charge. Maybe this is the end-result of all that hate and prejudice against LGBT's. Like the butterfly who flaps it's wings and thereby sets of a hurricane at the other end of the world.

We create our own reality through our thoughts, because eventually we act upon our thoughts, or thoughts by others that became actions.

Look what this world has become, a world where we have to discuss at length who uses what toilet. Wasting so much energy, time and potential at pointless discussions that could be used to make life better for all of us. I think we're coming to some decisive moments in time. Because this cannot go on like it is.

Hi Brandon,
I'm not sure what you're getting at.  Who do you think orchestrated this?
Thanks,
Paige :)

Well false flag just simply means that there are more people involved than what the media is telling us and it also means that this was a setup, now a lot of people will call me a conspiracy theroist but I just consider myself as one of those people who puts pieces together and this case there are alot of inconsistencies. The government is behind it or the higher up people ig you could say.
