That would surely make recruiting tougher...
While perhaps not causal for "mass shootings" there is a great correlation with SSRI consumption. And psychotropic drugs are relatively new, perhaps explaining why these sorts of things didn't occur in the past. Oh. And, psychotropic drugs are a HUGE business. Oh. And, Big Pharma lobbying dwarfs all gun lobbying...
And, this is a long ways from admiring Rachel's amazing hips...

Kate
I agree this is a long way from Rachel's hips but before we go back to the original topic May I ask you to cite your sources on how SSRIs are causing mass shootings? There is probably nothing more common then a patient who takes mental health meds and becomes functional and then believes they are ok and decide (on their own) that they don't need to take them anymore. If those are the people your talking about who loose it? I agree.
I have a family history of depression and without therapy and meds I was in a world of ->-bleeped-<-. When I was diagnosed I was terrified that mental health drugs would poison my brain or turn me into a veg. I guess I missed the part about it turning people into mass murderers. Eventually I had a long talk with a doctor that I trusted about mental health meds. Now I have some first hand experience and can report that its helped me greatly. So I'm not an expert but I think the doctors I've been treated by know what they are doing.
I'm concerned that people who do not have to deal with depression or anxiety repeat things they read on the internet. Some that say, "Just snap out of it" when they hear you have depression for instance. If you are a medical expert I guess I'll eat crow. Or have taken SSRIs and its given you the urge to shoot up room fulls of people?? I guess all I can say is my experience is different but if your not taking Mental Health meds or not an expert and your repeating something could you please point out where its coming from and why you believe it and not what responsible doctors are telling me?
Its just my opinion but I believe that our entertainment in the last few decades has numbed us to violence. If you look at movies from the past you would be hard pressed to find a graphic scene of someone mowing down room fulls of "bad guys" Now it seems to be required! The games that people played in the previous century didn't include the fun of mowing down buildings full of people. Have you noticed there is little to no regret shown by the actors blasting away at these room fulls of people? I think its a bit like watching porn all the time. What used to be "crazy" extreme is the new normal. Acting out Rape scenes in BDSM porn and violence that is what all the cool kids are doing. Is it any wonder that frat boys are getting away with violent rapes with no jail time?
I don't have any great love for big pharma. I think they make a lot of money for being an industry that is supposed to cure disease. And on that topic how many drugs are not cures but a life long (Expensive) pill you keep taking forever? The answer I think is all (or most) of them.
Back to the primary topic there has to be some sort of celebration we can have when your shape changes enough that your panties don't roll down because your figure has changed! Someone pass me the party hat because Hooray! I've reached that level.
