That's because it's illegal worldwide to serve small portions of Italian food, even if it is made with...American...ingrediments. That's why I had to get The Big Plate out... :P
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

Yesterday's. Pork strips stir-fried with green onion. Stir-fried green beans.


And I have to finish what was left yesterday..... 0 0 The bowl at the right side is newly added, Chinese cabbage, pork strips, and bean threads stir-fried and cooked in sweet sour sauce (really long name when translated to English... native name 糖醋白菜炒肉丝)






Tell you a secret: this is my best friend in cooking. A Chinese wok (锅). Except for stir-frying (炒), I can also use it to do steaming (蒸), slow frying (煎), fast frying (炸), making a thick soup (炖), making a thin soup (烹), boiling (煮). Almost everything......

Quorn fillets in a tomato lemon and smoked paprika sauce with peppers red onion,green beans,butter beans,chick peas and cous cous.

It's a mushroom based, meat substitute in many flavours eg mince,chicken,beef,sausages and hot dogs,ham and beef slices.

Red borscht...beets + pretty much every vegetable I had lying around. Served with a spoonful of sour cream.

I could eat nothing but borscht for the rest of my days and die a happy guy :)

I make borscht pretty often, too. I like it. Not as often as you though  :)

I forgot to sit the chicken breasts out of the freezer last night. If they get thawed in time it'll be shake n bake.

If not then it's "Poke, Roll, and Grit"...Poke yo feet under the table, roll yo eyes, and grit yo teeth because it's not going to be anything good tonight.
