What does everyone think about this look. This is pre hrt still.

I haven't gotten a ma'am yet but did get a hello ladies with my friend at an upscale clothing store . The voice and mannerisms are good but looks are challenging,  well in the face anyhow.

Thanks

Wow, have you been doing nonstop laser? Your beard shadow is much less noticeable now. And I think that hairstyle is lovely and suits you.

Thanks I appreciate the feedback. Still trying to get really comfortable going out. Practice and patience I suppose.

Only two laser treatments so far. Good makeup I guess or a really good picture. I still dislike my looks so I try to improve it anyway possible. The upper lip and chin area are the worst both for shaving and laser, double ouch  :(

But on the other hand lots of people worry about their looks way too much so I try not to stress over it too much.
Still growing hair out so it's a cheap wig that matches my natural hair color and style I used to have, except my bangs were never more than 8inches long, yet!

Here is another picture with no makeup and no wig

Ok, I suppose it's my turn. I had an awesome experience last month in which I got a makeover and went out to a bar/night club with several other trans women. It was my first time fully made up and out in public. After the makeover I knew I had to see what kind of results I could produce on my own. Below are some of my pictures from the makeover and from my first attempt at doing my own makeup:

From the makeover

My first makeup attempt a few days later (Also got a wig that I liked much better than the one used in the makeover).

I'm 37 years old and obviously not on HRT yet, but I plan to start in a few months. What do you all think?

Not on HRT??  Oh wow!  you're going to do great.  You might consider a tracheal shave though.

Hi everyone,

My name's Ryan, I'm 21 and pre-everything, just starting the process. I've just been lurking so far and I guess I probably should've started with an introduction or something but I've been feeling kind of crappy lately and wanted to get some feedback on my prospects for passing someday.

P.S. I know the lighting sucks but my webcam dosen't handle the lights in my room very well.

You have a better starting point then I have you will do fine. I am not sure for myself with my Joker face XD

EDIT: I have posted in here before so not sure if I should again just yet however I Was listening to Tracy Chapman's song Fast Car (love it) and forgot I had my webcam window open and when I looked up my hair had fallen down on one side of my face and I liked how it looked so I took a couple of pics (weird cause it falls down alot) But I felt that while I prefer the second pic, I figured I should post the first one as well though I do not like it as much believe me I rarely think pics of me look good, so I do not know why this one is different. Anyway here they are:

I will end up removing them in a few days (my standard practice at the moment these days).

PS: Gawd why must my chin and nose stick out so much (joker face)

You have some good things going for you already.  One poster mentioned you lips and mouth.  I like your arched eyebrows.  Your chin is not male massive.  Your general face shape is feminine rather than masculine.

What could be issues?  I can't get a read on your brow bossing or Adams Apple.  And maybe your hairline, but that does not stand out to me.

Your hair is just at the awkward stage right now.  Give it some time.

Hi Ladies. I am 28 and very early on in transition. I am 6 months into therapy and not on HRT yet but have had two laser treatments and have my third this week. I am fairly tall at 6 foot and am stuck with big male feet which have both been something that has always scared me about transition. Please let me know your thoughts as to if HRT may be enough for me to really pass or if I might need some FFS as well. As of now I feel I am passing decently well in most casual environments but I think I am still getting clocked due to my height. These are my most recent pictures and are from an amazing trip I took with two of my best friends to New Orleans this weekend. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Eeeeh. I'm usually pretty critical compared to other members (which usually keeps me from posting because then people get despaired and/or think I'm being mean to them), but seriously, don't worry about it. A few unlucky ones will never get to your current degree of passing without something drastic like FFS, and many, many of us would have never passed so well before HRT. There is absolutely nothing to worry about.

And even now, to be honest, at first glance I was gonna say "Seriously? No, you pass 100 %". Then I looked more cautiously, because of where it was posted, and I noticed a few things. Like how your jaw is a little wide (which will most likely be camouflaged by hormones soon enough) and how your large sunglasses (by hiding the upper face so much, they scream "lookie, down there, jaaaaaaaw!") and hair placement (behind the jaw) on the last picture are extremely unflattering by showing its worst aspect.

Your jaw will most likely be camouflaged very well by HRT. And if it doesn't, a bit of FFS is always an option. But trust me: if you ever get FFS, it will merely be an improvement, not a requirement.

Also, what the heck? super gynecomastia? Clever protheses/bra? o.o

Lauren -
Um, you're already passing pretty well IMHO.  If you were to show me only picture #2 (by yourself in the black top), and I didn't know any better, I would have read you only as a woman, not as a trans-woman.  HRT is only going to increase your passability and soften your features.  The only thing that I see right now is that your arms are distinctly male.  FFS - you're kidding me.  Unless something changes dramatically, I wouldn't even let that enter my mind at this point unless there is something that is really bothering you.  In any case, you should probably wait a couple of years to see what HRT will do anyway.

As to height - I wouldn't worry about it.  There are a lot of women out there who are 6 feet tall.  The main thing is to make sure that your gestures, mannerisms, and most of all, voice reflect the woman that you are.  If you do this, even heels won't be a problem (which will help you to feel less concious about your foot size).

Thanks for sharing, and good luck to you.  Welcome to Susan's!

Thanks for your candid response A. My jaw is one of my biggest concerns on my face and I completely agree about the sunglasses and hair being further back make my wide jaw stand out. Good to hear that the hormones may help out with that on their own and a smaller pair of sunglasses is in my future now ;). As for the boobs, I have always had slight man boobs and I combined with an add two sizes bra it can sometimes create decent cleavage. That pic is exceptionally good and we were all surprised by it lol!

Thanks for the response Carol! Yeah I have always been very naturally athletic and while don't do any weight lifiting have always had very strong muscles. I am hoping HRT will help decrease them and soften up thos big arms and shoulder muscles. Good to hear FFS may not be needed to pass, I would much rather focus on other things if I can than spend the money and recovery on FFS. The only major thing that A mentioned as well is my jaw but I agree to let HRT do its magic for a bit and see if that helps out there.

When I first started looking at your photos I was thinking buddy, your wife sure is a knock out, but you will have a long way to go. Then it occurred to me that you are the woman in the photos, and I almost went through the floor. You are there honey, just drop-dead-gorgeous!

Lauren i wouldn't worry to much about passing. i think your going to do just fine. at 6 months your already looking good. you can get FFS if you want as it doesn't really hurt as long as you don't go overboard like some do. and being tall? tall is good and we have more fun. most models are like 5'11 or taller. lookin good girl

I think you pass too Lauren! And you have a very natural femininity that can't really be achieved by trying; it's kind of like a glow, and you have that. ^_^

Darn forgot to ask to not have my pics quoted.

Anyway thanks Jamie D my hair has been like that since before HRT so I guess like myself my hair is awkward all the time. XD

@GYLF  It's funny you should mention the lips, I used to get made fun of for them when I was younger because people thought I was wearing lipstick, not that I really minded those "insults" - also, I hope you're right about my transition  :)

@JamieD  Thanks for all your feedback! I think my hairline and brows could cause me some issues but I guess the clever use of bangs could help with that, as for the adams apple, I don't think it's too bad but I imagine I'll have to address it at some point.

@Tristan  I'm glad you think I've got potential :) Sometimes I see it, sometimes I'm not so sure. I'm trying to start hrt as soon as I can but sometimes the whole process feels painfully slow.

Shantel thanks for giving me quite a laugh. The two guys are a couple and are my biggest supporters. They are both very hairy men who would have a lot of laser in their future ;). Thanks for the compliment and the laugh.

Tristen, thanks for the feedback. I hope HRT will make some nice differences in my face to where FFS won't be necessary at all but I guess I can just cross that bridge when I get there.

I like to hear that i have a glow ;) I am a super positive bubbly and happy person typically and I am glad that comes off as a feminine feature.
